Inspection seizes backhoe and cement load without invoice in Pará
Actions took place in the tax units of Araguaia and Tapajós, recovering over R$ 134 thousand in taxes and fines

The Secretary of Finance of Pará (Sefa), through the Coordination of Goods in Transit of Araguaia and Tapajós, carried out two seizures of goods without the collection of state taxes on September 19. The actions resulted in the recovery of R$ 134,155.34 in taxes and fines, reinforcing the fight against tax evasion and the protection of fair competition in the State.
At the Araguaia unit, located in Conceição do Araguaia (Rodovia PA-447, km 15), the inspection seized a brand new backhoe, valued at R$ 934,320.99. The equipment left Cuiabá (MT) destined for a company in São Félix do Xingu (PA), which is not a state tax contributor.
“The driver of a flatbed truck presented tax documents for a backhoe, and the inspection verified that there was no state registration for tax substitution in the State and that the collection of the ICMS Differential Rate (Difal) to the State of Pará had not occurred,” explained the coordinator of the tax unit, Renato Couto.

Given the irregularity, a Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was drawn up in the amount of R$ 104,059.34, referring to the tax due plus a fine.
Cement seized in Tapajós
At the Coordination of Goods in Transit of Tapajós, in the Lower Amazon region, inspectors retained a load of 2,000 bags of cement, valued at R$ 88 thousand, which was being transported on a barge from Santarém to Alenquer without tax documentation.
“The goods were leaving Santarém destined for Alenquer, on a barge,” informed the coordinator of the tax unit, Roberto Mota.
The irregular transport resulted in the issuance of a TAD in the amount of R$ 30,096.00.
