Traffic has a new detour for the advancement of the New Marinha Street works
Traffic changes begin this Tuesday (23) and include an exclusive lane for residents of the area

Starting at 8 am this Tuesday (23), traffic on Marinha Street, between Dias and Jarbas Passarinho passages, is being closed for the continuation of the New Marinha Street works in Belém. Vehicles are being directed to the already completed section of the extension and duplication of the road. To ensure safety and fluidity, the perimeter between Augusto Montenegro Avenue and Dias Passage will also remain closed.
The changes will occur gradually, every 500 meters, minimizing the impacts on traffic. While there is a detour, the new lane will have an exclusive parking lane for residents of the area.
New mobility axis – With an extension of 3.5 kilometers, the extension and duplication of the New Marinha Street will reduce congestion, increase road safety, decrease travel time in the Metropolitan Region of Belém, and boost urban development.

The project, executed by the State Secretariat for Public Works (Seop), includes two two-way lanes with three lanes each, a bike lane, accessible sidewalks, horizontal and vertical signage, bus stops, and LED lighting, providing more comfort and safety to the population. The work is part of the legacy of the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30).
