On September 26 and October 3, from 6 AM to 12 PM, teams from the National Force of the Unified Health System (FN-SUS) in partnership with professionals from the State Department of Public Health (Sespa) will conduct a simulation of incidents with multiple victims near Aldeia Cabana, located on Pedro Miranda Avenue, between Lomas Valentinas and Perebebuí streets, in the Pedreira neighborhood of Belém.

The action will be divided into two phases: on September 26, a preparatory test will take place, and on October 3, a complete simulation will be conducted near Aldeia Cabana, always from 6 AM to 12 PM.

The test on September 26 will serve for operational and logistical adjustments, ensuring greater accuracy in conducting the main exercise. The simulation on October 3 will bring together health teams, firefighters, security forces, reference hospitals, and partner institutions, aiming to integrate responses to critical and emergency situations.

During these days and times, there will be road closures near Aldeia Cabana. The training will gather health professionals, managers, Samu teams, firefighters, Civil Defense, reference hospitals, security forces, and partner institutions. The goal is to prepare those involved for integrated responses to critical high-impact scenarios.

During the activity, participants will be trained in the fundamentals of IMV, command and control, regulation, triage, death management, hospital preparation, and specific situations such as flooding and structural collapses.

“This training represents a milestone for us, who manage SUS in Pará, as it brings together different sectors – health, security, civil defense, and local institutions – in the same exercise, which is essential for saving lives in critical situations,” says the State Secretary of Public Health, Ivete Vaz, referring to how simulations of this nature help reduce response times to emergencies, increasing the chances of saving lives.

The training in Belém is part of the cycle of activities that FN-SUS is carrying out in several Brazilian capitals, in order to prepare States and Municipalities to respond in an increasingly integrated and efficient manner to public health emergencies.

The simulation will mobilize local and national teams in a scenario of structural collapse with multiple victims, allowing for practical evaluation of the integration between services, communication flows, transportation coordination, and readiness for care, as well as identifying opportunities for improvement in response protocols.
