Paragominas hosts timber auction to strengthen environmental policies
The auction will be held in a public session on October 21, starting at 9:30 AM, at the Regional Office of Semas. The funds raised will be allocated to the State Environmental Fund (Fema)

The State Secretariat for the Environment, Climate and Sustainability (Semas) published Auction Notice No. 02/2025, which deals with logs of wood from Vegetation Suppression Authorizations (ASVs), within the scope of authorized environmental licensing processes. The auction will be held in a public session on October 21, starting at 9:30 AM, at the Regional Office of Semas in Paragominas, located in the Furniture Pole.
The auction will be of the "highest bid per lot" type and is divided into eleven lots. In total, more than 10,000 m³ of logs will be offered, and the funds raised from this initiative, carried out in accordance with State Law No. 10,588/2024, will be allocated to the State Environmental Fund (Fema). This fund finances actions for inspection, monitoring, environmental regularization, and sustainability programs. Thus, the revenue generated returns to society through public environmental policies.
Only legal entities registered in the State Register of Explorers and Consumers of Forest Products (CEPROF), in the categories of sawmill or sawmill/wood industry, in accordance with state and federal legislation, may participate in the auction.
The products can be inspected between October 16 and 17, 2025, by prior appointment until October 14, with Semas, via the email [email protected].
Transparency and forest management - according to the Deputy Secretary of Administrative Management and Technologies of Semas, Lília Reis, "the holding of this auction reinforces Semas' commitment to ensuring the proper allocation of wood from authorized vegetation suppression processes, ensuring transparency, legality, and economic return for the State. This measure strengthens the fight against illegal exploitation and contributes to more sustainable and responsible forest management in Pará."
The complete notice is available on the portals of Semas, Compras Pará and PNCP.
