Programming at Praça Batista Campos concludes the September Green Campaign in Pará
The action reinforced the importance of organ and tissue donation and brought health services and cultural activities to the population

The September Green Campaign 2025 concluded its programming in Pará in grand style this Sunday (28), with a special event at Praça Batista Campos, in Belém. The action brought information, health services, and cultural performances to the population, aiming to raise awareness about the importance of organ and tissue donation.
With the theme "To donate is to sow a new life," the initiative was promoted by the State Department of Public Health (Sespa), through the State Transplant Center (CET), and by the Santa Casa de Misericórdia Foundation of Pará (FSCMPA). The action also had the support of the Hemopa Foundation, the Municipal Health Department of Belém (Sesma), a network of partners, and nursing students from the University of the Amazon (Unama), Ananindeua campus.

During the programming, the public received services such as blood pressure measurement and blood glucose testing. Hemopa conducted blood collection for bone marrow registration. CET also promoted awareness activities, such as traffic blitzes with the distribution of green ribbons (the campaign's symbol) and educational materials.
The cultural part included performances by the Madrigal João Bosco de Castro Choir, the Pará singer Nilson Chaves, and the samba school Rancho Não Posso Me Amofinar, as well as playful activities for children.

One of the most emotional moments was the testimony of Roberto de Santana Campos, who received a liver transplant in 2023 and shared how the act of donation transformed his life.
For the CET coordinator, Alfredo Abud, the campaign reinforces the importance of dialogue on the subject within families. "Donation saves lives, and each 'yes' makes a difference for those waiting in line. These mobilizations are essential to raise awareness among more people and expand this conversation in society," he emphasized.

The CET nurse, Perla Corrêa, also highlighted the engagement of supporters. "Together with the students, we conducted educational blitzes and distributed awareness materials, alerting about the importance of donation," she explained.
Numbers in Pará
Until August 2025, Pará recorded 193 organ and tissue donations and performed 309 transplants. Currently, about 1,500 people are waiting on the list for a kidney, cornea, or liver.
Anyone can be a potential donor. There is no need for notarized registration or official documents; simply express this wish to the family, which is responsible for the legal authorization.

Throughout September, the campaign promoted a series of activities, including courses, lectures, walks, educational blitzes, and mobilizations at major sporting events, expanding the reach of the message.
The conclusion of the programming marks the end of the September Green actions, but the campaign's goal continues: to stimulate solidarity and reduce the waiting time for those dreaming of a new chance to live.
