Detran provides Licensing services for people with disabilities in Altamira
Agency ensures practical exams in the municipality of southwestern Pará

The State Department of Traffic (Detran) returned, for the second time, to the municipality of Altamira, in the Xingu region, to assist people with disabilities (PcD) in the final stages of the licensing processes. This time, seven more candidates were assisted by the Special Traffic Board (Jet), six of them with the first licensing process guaranteed by the Social Program CNH Pai D'égua.
The execution of the Jet is a mandatory step for PcD who want to obtain the National Driver's License. The service is provided by the evaluation team from Detran in Belém, in municipalities that do not have Jet examiners, in adapted vehicles.

To prevent candidates from traveling to the capital, Detran sends the board to the cities with the aim of making the service more accessible and at a lower cost to users.
Altamira is one of the municipalities that demand this type of service the most. In 2025, approximately 15 candidates with disabilities from the city have already been assisted by Detran.

The Special Traffic Board (JET) is composed of a medical expert from each clinic that attended the user, a traffic examiner from Detran, and a representative from the State Traffic Council (Cetran). During the practical exam, the team evaluates the physical, psychological, and mental aspects of candidates with disabilities in adapted vehicles during the exam.
“PcDs can also obtain the CNH and bring this service to them, in cities where often the availability of clinical services is not always present, it is a way to ensure this right. Every year, Detran organizes the JETs precisely to ensure that CNH processes can be completed,” explains Detran's PcD examiner Juarez Castro. Next month, the municipality of Parauapebas will receive the special service from the agency.
