Civil Police makes two arrests for drug trafficking and seizures in the 'Operation Cross Route'
With the support of the Civil Police of Santa Catarina and Rio de Janeiro, and the Military Police of Pará, the operation aimed to curb drug trafficking actions and attacks against security agents

The Civil Police of Pará, through the Organized Crime Repression Division (DRCO) and the Criminal Gang Repression Delegation (DRFC), launched the "Operation Cross Route" on the morning of this Tuesday (30), with operational support from the Civil Police of Santa Catarina, the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro, and the Military Police of Pará. The action aimed to curb actions of suspects involved in a criminal gang responsible for interstate drug transportation and for carrying out attacks against public security agents.
The investigations began last month and aimed to locate a suspect believed to be a leader of a criminal organization in the Jurunas neighborhood of Belém. "The investigations revealed that the suspect, who had escaped from the Pará prison system, was hiding from Justice in a residence in the Metropolitan Region of Florianópolis, from where he had recently ordered the murder of a security agent for the following week," explained Augusto Potiguar, director of the DRCO.
According to the investigations, the suspect was also responsible for sending drugs from the state of Santa Catarina to the Metropolitan Region of Belém (RMB). After exchanging information between the Civil Police of Pará and Santa Catarina, a search was conducted in the southern state to execute the arrest warrant against the suspect, who reacted to the police approach and was neutralized. A firearm was seized from him.

Seizure - On this Tuesday (30), teams from the Criminal Gang Repression Delegation managed to intercept a load of drugs in the Castanheira neighborhood of the capital of Pará. In total, 117 blocks of marijuana were seized that had arrived in Pará at the behest of the suspect.
"In addition to the drugs, two suspects were arrested in the act for drug trafficking, who were accustomed to transporting drugs to Pará," explained Breno Ruffeil, head of the DRFC. According to the delegate, the operation is another example of success in combating crime. "It is important to emphasize that this is yet another successful operation carried out by the unit, in identifying and arresting gang members occupying various positions," he explained.
The operation also resulted in the seizure of several cell phones in the possession of the suspects. The suspects were sent to the prison system, where they remain at the disposal of Justice.
