State Government and Global Citizen ensure free courses for young people at the Usinas da Paz
Initiative aims to expand opportunities for professional training and social and economic inclusion through free activities in various areas

The Government of Pará, in partnership with the international organization Global Citizen, will ensure the implementation of more than 20 training courses aimed at young people from Pará at the Usinas da Paz. The initiative seeks to expand opportunities for professional training and social and economic inclusion through free activities in various areas. The official launch of the partnership took place on the night of last Tuesday (30), at an event held at the Usina da Paz Jurunas/Condor in Belém.
The courses are being offered in an accessible manner and focus on developing skills that can contribute to young people's entry into the job market, as well as stimulating entrepreneurship and technological innovation within communities. The programs also have the support of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the City Hall of Belém, and the participation of various state secretariats.

Student Beatriz Maia, 18 years old, is already participating in the preparatory course for the Enem and English classes at the Usina da Paz. She says she was excited about the arrival of the new training programs. “It’s a very important opportunity for us young people who seek to prepare ourselves more and more for the future. Especially with topics that involve the environment we live in. I want to make the most of this new learning opportunity,” she said.

Student Jéssica da Silva also highlighted the relevance of the courses as an incentive for young people in the community. “These activities show that we can dream bigger and achieve our goals. Many times we cannot afford to pay for training, and knowing that we will have free access here makes all the difference. And we will also enjoy the Global Citizen festival, which is really cool,” she shared.
The program includes workshops on writing and audiovisual production about environmental racism, creative robotics, sustainable fashion, guided tours of the Utinga State Park, tree planting initiatives, as well as training in sustainable agriculture, environmental agent courses, solid waste management techniques, and environmental education for young people.

The courses are available at the Usinas da Paz in Cabanagem, Bengui, Guamá, Terra Firme, Jurunas-Condor, Icuí-Guajará (Ananindeua), Marituba, Benevides, and Castanhal.
The Secretary of Citizenship Articulation, Elieth Braga, emphasized that the initiative reinforces the role of the Usinas da Paz as centers of opportunity. "The State of Pará is experiencing a very special moment, which allows us to unite efforts with international partners to expand access to education and professional training. It is a way to show that our young people have potential and that the State believes in this future," the manager highlighted.
Global Citizen Festival: Amazon - In addition to learning, participants who complete the courses will receive tickets to the Global Citizen Festival: Amazon, which takes place on November 1st in Belém, featuring performances by Anitta, Gaby Amarantos, and Seu Jorge, along with the presence of Chief Raoni Metuktire and a special appearance by Chris Martin from the band Coldplay.
