With the support of the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Sports and Leisure (Seel), the Olympic Stadium of Pará Journalist Edgar Proença, Mangueirão, in Belém, was the stage for the grand final of the 6th edition of the Liga dos Quartéis de Futebol.

In an exciting match, Águia Futebol Clube (Batalhão Águia) from the capital won the championship title by defeating Grêmio do 13º Batalhão de Tucuruí in a penalty shootout, 4 to 2, after a 2 to 2 draw in regular time.

The tournament, organized by the Military Police of Pará, brought together 22 teams and over 800 athletes, representing barracks from the capital and the interior of the State. The competition was divided into two stages — a qualifying phase with round-robin points and an elimination phase — which mobilized fans and strengthened integration among the battalions.

The Secretary of Sports and Leisure of Pará, Cássio Andrade, highlighted the importance of the initiative and congratulated the athletes for their dedication and sportsmanship.

“I want to congratulate these military athletes who represented their teams very well in a great game, a true spectacle for their fans who were present at Mangueirão,” said the secretary.

Player Paulo José from the winning team thanked the support of the State Government and highlighted the emotion of playing in the stadium.

“I am just grateful to the Government for providing all the necessary support for the organization of the event and for providing this beautiful celebration for our families. Being in this iconic stadium, where Remo, Paysandu, and even the Brazilian National Team have played, is a dream. Thanks to God and the support of the State, we were able to realize it. This is my third title — I was already a champion with the Sixth Battalion, then with Búfalo do Marajó, and now with Águia,” he celebrated.

On the other side, Corporal Gabriel from Grêmio de Tucuruí lamented the result but emphasized the value of the event for the troops.

“Unfortunately, another final slipped away. We came from afar, with a lot of effort, and lost in the penalties. Even so, we can only thank the State Government and the organizers. It is an event that unites the barracks, promotes leisure, and brings police officers closer together,” he emphasized.

Secretary Cássio Andrade also reinforced the commitment of the Government of Pará to strengthen sports in all its dimensions — from grassroots to professional training, and also in the military sphere.

“The Liga dos Quartéis is proof that sports go far beyond competition. It integrates, motivates, and strengthens bonds among servers. The Government of Pará, through Seel, has been investing in programs, works, and actions that value sports as a tool for inclusion, health, and citizenship,” he concluded.
