Uepa announces Medical and Multiprofessional Residency notices starting in 2026

The Unified Selection Process 2026 (PSU/2026) is available for Medical Residency Programs, as well as the Selection Process for the Health Residency Program, in multi and uniprofessional modalities.

The State University of Pará (Uepa) has opened online registrations for two Selection Processes for Health Residency Programs. The Unified Selection Process 2026 (PSU/2026) is available for Medical Residency Programs, as well as the Selection Process for the Health Residency Program, in multi and uniprofessional modalities.

The PSU/2026 for Medical Residency Programs will have registrations open from October 16 to 30. There are 198 vacancies for the Metropolitan Region of Belém (RMB) and 27 vacancies for the municipality of Santarém, with activities scheduled to start in March 2026. Registrations must be made exclusively online, at this link, on the selection process page. Complete information is available in the notice 116-2025.

The notice follows the rules established by the National Commission of Medical Residency (CNRM) and Medical Residency Commissions (Coremes) of the State University of Pará (Uepa), Ophir Loyola Hospital (HOL), Gaspar Vianna Hospital Foundation (FHCGV), Santa Casa de Misericórdia do Pará Foundation (FSCMPA), Metropolitan Emergency Hospital (HMUE), and the Municipal Health Department of Belém.

The PSU/2026 will have a single qualifying and eliminatory stage for the PRMs of direct access and with prerequisites, conducted through an objective test on January 18, 2026, which will take place in Belém and Santarém. The PRMs of Uepa, HOL, FHCGV, FSCMPA, HMUE, and Sesma are accredited by the CNRM and the Ministry of Education (MEC).

Among the specialties are Anesthesiology, Cardiology, Pediatric Cardiology, Cardiovascular Surgery, Hand Surgery, Head and Neck Surgery, General Surgery, Oncological Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Endocrinology and Metabolism, Endoscopy, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Hematology and Hemotherapy, Hemodynamics, Hepatology, Mastology, Family and Community Medicine, Family and Community Medicine – Mental Health; Emergency Medicine; Intensive Care Medicine; Pediatric Intensive Care; Nephrology; Pediatric Nephrology; Neonatology; Neurosurgery; Neurology; Neuroradiology; Clinical Oncology; Orthopedics and Traumatology; Pediatrics; Psychiatry; Radiology and Imaging Diagnosis; Radiology and Imaging Diagnosis; Rheumatology and Urology.

The 27 vacancies for Santarém are distributed among the specialties of Anesthesiology, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Family and Community Medicine, Intensive Care Medicine, Neurosurgery, Clinical Oncology, Orthopedics and Traumatology, Pediatrics, and Urology. The PSU/2026 will be executed by Uepa, through the Pro-Rectorate of Undergraduate Studies (Prograd), Directorate of Access and Evaluation (DAA), and the Center for Biological and Health Sciences (CCBS), with the oversight of the PSU/2026 Commission.

Multi and Uniprofessional Residency

Uepa also published the notice 117-2025 for the selection process of the Multiprofessional and Uniprofessional Health Area Residency Programs, with a start date scheduled for March 2026. In total, there are 205 Multiprofessional vacancies and 11 Uniprofessional vacancies, distributed among Belém, Santarém, Marabá, Tucuruí, Redenção, Bragança, Ananindeua, and Conceição do Araguaia. Registrations must be made from October 7 to 23, exclusively through the university's selection process website, at the link available here.

The programs are aimed at health professionals, such as nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, social workers, nutritionists, dentists, pharmacists, biomedical professionals, physical educators, and speech therapists interested in working in Lato sensu postgraduate education, with service training linked to the Unified Health System (SUS).

The specialties in the multiprofessional modality include: Family Health, Mental Health Care, Cardiology Care, Nephrology, Emergency and Urgency, Oncology with an emphasis on Palliative Care, Women's and Children's Health, Orthopedics and Traumatology Care, Intensive Therapy, Hemotherapy and Hematology, among others. In the Uniprofessional modality, vacancies are offered in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology, Oncological Nursing, Intensive Care Unit Nursing, and Oncological Surgical Clinic Nursing.

The selection will consist of two stages: an objective test scheduled for December 14, 2025, in the municipalities of Belém, Marabá, Conceição do Araguaia, Santarém, and Tucuruí; and analysis of the Lattes Curriculum. The final result is expected on February 20. The programs operate on an exclusive dedication regime, lasting 24 months for most areas and 36 months for the specialty in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology. The workload is 60 hours per week, with 80% practical and 20% theoretical. Questions about the selection process can be sent to the email [email protected].
