Ophir Loyola Hospital (HOL) continues to modernize its neurosurgery services with the use of a state-of-the-art surgical microscope. The equipment has already been utilized by the team and enhances the precision of procedures, reduces intraoperative risks, and allows for a faster recovery for patients served by the service.

Professionals at Ophir Loyola Hospital: higher quality during procedures

According to neurosurgeon Joel Monteiro de Jesus from HOL's Neurosurgery Clinic, the new microscope represents a significant advancement. “It allows for greater precision, safety, and quality during procedures, directly benefiting patients. It is a resource that ensures better surgical outcomes and a faster and more effective postoperative period, aligned with the best practices in global neurosurgery,” explains the specialist.

Joyce is already recovering after surgery at HOL

Result - Among the patients benefiting from the technology is Joyce Yasmim, 16 years old, diagnosed with epilepsy. She underwent surgery on September 19. “Today, I can only thank and I feel much better. Anyone who is afraid doesn’t need to be. The recovery is good and the team is great, always supporting the patient. They are there for whatever is needed,” says the teenager.

Joyce's mother, Jocicleia Santos, highlights the importance of the new equipment for the family. “We faced difficulties for 12 years. Joyce's illness was discovered here at the Hospital, and at first, we were told we would need to go to São Paulo due to lack of structure. But the surgery was successfully performed here at Ophir Loyola, which I consider a new achievement and a new victory,” says Jocicleia.

Jocicleia: tranquility and gratitude

She accompanied her daughter from the beginning until hospital discharge and felt strengthened by faith throughout the process. “The surgery started at 11 am and ended at 5:14 pm. Thank God, and the team, I was calm. I especially thank Dr. Francinaldo Gomes, who supported us in the most difficult moments, and also the entire surgical team and the ICU for their super special attention,” adds Joyce's mother.

With the incorporation of the high-tech microscope into its routine, Ophir Loyola Hospital reaffirms its commitment to excellence in care, combining technological innovation with humanization of care, ensuring safer and more efficient results for neurosurgery patients.
