Teaching Directories 7 and 8 in Belém receive a technical visit from Seduc
The head of Seduc visited more than 10 educational units to listen to the community, learn about their reports, and align strategies for improvements

On this Thursday (9), the Secretary of State for Education, Ricardo Sefer, visited the schools managed by the Regional Teaching Directories (DREs) 7 and 8, located in Belém.
Accompanied by state deputy Fábio Freitas and the school directors, the head of the State Department of Education (Seduc) visited more than 10 educational units to listen to the community, learn about their reports, and align strategies for improvements.
The inspection began with a meeting at DRE 8, where the 22 directors of the jurisdictional schools were present. The regional teaching directory has 12,366 students regularly enrolled for the year 2025. The director Juliana Lourinho welcomed the secretary and spoke about the importance of receiving, for the first time, a visit from a Secretary of Education.
“Welcome to our DRE, we were very anxious for your visit. Our 22 schools are peripheral schools that need your help, your sensitive gaze. Our gratitude for this moment of your presence. Gratitude also for the deputy being with us and the commander of the 24th Battalion, because this is very important, security and education walking together for a common good, which is to do the best for our school year,” said Juliana Lourinho.

During the inspection, some state schools in the Tapanã neighborhood were visited, such as José Márcio Ayres, Nossa Senhora do Carmo, and Francisco Berton. In the Benguí neighborhood, students received and had the opportunity to talk with the Seduc manager at the State School Cidade de Emaús, Maria Luiza da Costa Rego, Santa Bárbara, and Waldemar Henrique.
In the afternoon, the delegation continued the inspections of schools linked to DRE 7. The first stop was at Colégio Lauro Sodré, in the Marco neighborhood, followed by the Salesian School of Work, in Pedreira.
During the program, Secretary Ricardo Sefer, the Deputy of Basic Education, Júlio Meirelles, and the director Geovânia Paiva met with the rector of the State University of Pará (Uepa), Clay Chagas, to align demands in the educational and pedagogical area of the State. In conclusion, the infrastructure and pedagogical issues of the Manoel de Jesus Moares and Donatila Santana Lopes Schools were also inspected.

At the end, Secretary Ricardo Sefer made an assessment of what was visited and the continuation of the work in improving education. “In more than ten schools that we visited, we got to know the problems up close; when we look with our eyes and feel with our hearts, we can bring the solution,” concluded the Seduc manager.
