Daycare centers under construction in Marajó receive visit from Vice Governor Hana Ghassan
Delivery in Cachoeira do Arari is scheduled for December. Ponta de Pedras is expected to receive its daycare in January 2026

As part of the priority actions of the Government of Pará aimed at early childhood, Vice Governor Hana Ghassan visited, this Wednesday (15), the construction sites of the Daycare Program "Creches Por Todo o Pará", which are being built in the municipalities of Cachoeira do Arari and Ponta de Pedras. The agenda included the presence of the State Secretary of Education, Ricardo Sefer, responsible for the execution of the program.
In Cachoeira do Arari, the investment is R$ 3.8 million, with 70% of the services completed and delivery scheduled for December of this year. During the visit, the Vice Governor highlighted the State Government's commitment to completing the works.

"Today is a special day and it is so good to celebrate Teacher's Day by visiting education works. Together with our Secretary of Education, Ricardo [Sefer], we went to talk to those who are carrying out the works and set the inauguration dates. Commitment made, another daycare in Cachoeira do Arari will be delivered in December. Let's work hard and everything will be fine," said the Vice Governor.
In Ponta de Pedras, the investment is R$ 6.7 million, with delivery scheduled for January 2026. The main difference between the two units is the structure: while the daycare in Cachoeira do Arari will have a nursery, the one in Ponta de Pedras will have two.
"Our second stop was at the construction of the daycare in Ponta de Pedras. This work started about four months ago, but it is already at an accelerated pace to be delivered next year to our children and families. It is an essential investment to care for our early childhood," reinforced Hana Ghassan.

The Secretary of Education, Ricardo Sefer, emphasized the importance of the program and the social impact of the new units.
"The State Government has been working to ensure that early childhood education reaches all regions of Pará. The daycare centers in Marajó follow the same quality standard adopted throughout the State, with complete spaces suitable for the integral development of children. It is an investment that transforms the reality of families and strengthens the foundation of education," highlighted the Secretary.
Each unit will serve 200 children, aged 0 to 5 years, full-time, with a structure composed of multipurpose classrooms and teachers' rooms, children's bathrooms, adult bathrooms, and adapted facilities for people with disabilities (PwD), breastfeeding room, nursery, diaper changing room, covered patio, playground, hammock area, garden, in addition to kitchen, dining room, laundry, pantry, office, management, storage, and locker room for staff.

The new daycare centers will contribute to generating income and autonomy for families by ensuring support, safety, and quality education for children, allowing mothers to return to the job market.
The Marajó region already has one daycare delivered by the State Government to the municipality of Melgaço, and will now be served by two more units in Cachoeira do Arari and Ponta de Pedras, expanding early childhood education services in the region.

The Program - The "Creches Por Todo o Pará" is an unprecedented initiative of the State Government, with an investment of over R$ 400 million. In total, it plans to build 150 units throughout the Pará territory, benefiting around 30,000 families.
So far, the State has already delivered daycare centers in the municipalities of Belém, Ananindeua, Benevides, Oriximiná, Redenção, Cumaru do Norte, Almeirim, Bannach, Melgaço, Curuçá, Marabá, and Igarapé-Açu, benefiting more than two thousand families.
