HRPM performs over 1,900 services aimed at children in 2025
The unit also developed a special program in honor of Children's Week

The Regional Public Hospital of Marajó (HRPM), in Breves, has played a fundamental role in decentralizing access to specialized health services on the island of Marajó. Among the main reference areas of the unit is pediatrics, which concentrates a large part of the healthcare demand in the region. Only between January and September of this year, the sector recorded 461 pediatric admissions and 1,496 consultations in pediatrics and neonatology, demonstrating the relevance of the service for the comprehensive care of Marajoara children.
Humanization - Among the neonatal care humanization strategies adopted by HRPM is the ofurô bath, also known as therapeutic bathing. The technique consists of positioning the newborn in a bucket or appropriate container with warm water, so that the baby remains curled up in a posture similar to that which it had inside the mother's womb.

Nurse and supervisor of the Intensive Care Units (ICUs), Jader Aguiar, highlights the main benefits observed with the use of this technique: reduction of stress and pain, as immersion in warm water provides relaxation and decreases agitation; improvement of sleep, since after the bath, babies tend to sleep longer and more peacefully; stimulation of neurological development, as the aquatic environment refers to intrauterine life, favoring a sense of security; relief of colic and muscle tension, contributing to physical and emotional comfort; strengthening of the bond with the family, which can participate in the moment as a form of welcome and affection.
Children's Week
In celebration of Children's Week, the multidisciplinary team of the Regional Hospital of Marajó held, last week, the "Crazy Hat Day" in the Neonatal and Pediatric ICUs. The action brought color and joy to the hospital environment, with professionals wearing creative and fun hats in honor of the little patients admitted.

Student Larissa Monteiro da Silva, 18, praised the special program of Children's Day promoted by the Regional Hospital. For her, the action was "very cute and very cool" and contributed to making the hospitalization moment lighter for the little ones. "Thank God, my son is being very well treated, just like all the children," she highlighted.
