More than 700 residents of the Castanheira neighborhood in Belém received, free of charge, new prescription glasses on Wednesday (15) through the state program "Por Todas Elas". The initiative of the government of Pará, aimed mainly at serving women and their families, aims to ensure better quality of life and access to citizenship, leisure, and health services.

The delivery of glasses benefited people who had already been attended to in eye exams and consultations conducted previously, during the project action that took place on September 16, at the Profª Terezinha Souza School. The location also hosted the delivery that took place this Thursday, which was attended by the vice-governor of Pará and creator of the "Por Todas Elas" program, Hana Ghassan.

The vice-governor reminded that the benefit is also offered to children

“Since I was little, I have had vision problems, so I know the difference that glasses make in people's lives, in daily life, at work, in studies. I see many children here who will no longer have difficulties seeing. The 'Por Todas Elas' was created for this, so that no mother sees her child struggling and cannot acquire new glasses. May they be a blessing for all who are present here. I thank you for the opportunity to be here offering this benefit,” declared the vice-governor of Pará.

For the beneficiaries of the delivery, the equipment represents more comfort, health, and autonomy in daily life, as resident Sirley Cristina shares. “It will help me in my daily life because I need them for work. I needed to change my glasses for two years, so this action came at the right time. I work in health, so I need glasses to be able to see. Now it will improve, with God's grace and with the help of this action,” she said.

Resident Diene Rayol was also one of the beneficiaries of the "Por Todas Elas" program with new prescription glasses. “My glasses were already damaged and I need to wear them permanently, so it will be an improvement, whether at home or on the street. I needed to change them for over a year, but I didn't have the necessary money, so I came to take advantage of this opportunity. I was already having vision problems and within less than a month I got my new glasses. It's great,” she stated.

In addition to the delivery of glasses, eleven new wheelchairs were also made available to people registered in the 'Por Todas Elas' action held in the neighborhood.

Por Todas Elas - Created in 2024, the "Por Todas Elas" program has already totaled around 190,000 services throughout Pará, through the offer of more than 30 types of free services in health, citizenship, and leisure. The state initiative seeks, in addition to ensuring essential services to Pará women and their families, to strengthen the debate on female participation as protagonists in the construction of rights and in society. The program has also ensured the production and delivery of more than 40,000 new prescription glasses to the population served in the itinerant actions.

“The 'Por Todas Elas' is a program that has been consolidating in multiple services, with the participation of various state secretariats and partner agencies, especially with the service of delivering glasses. Today, we returned to the Castanheira neighborhood to deliver these glasses, less than a month after the eye exams and so many other services that were offered to the residents of the region,” emphasized the State Secretary of Citizenship Articulation, Elieth Braga.

Service - People who were attended in the action that took place in the Castanheira neighborhood and could not attend the delivery on Wednesday (15), can, starting Thursday (16), pick up the glasses directly at the Usina da Paz in the Cabanagem neighborhood, located at Avenida Damasco, nº 37. It is necessary to present an official identification document.

In case of possible problems with the delivered glasses, interested parties should also seek the Usina da Paz Cabanagem to request the necessary corrections.
