Emater delivers over a hundred family farming registrations to the Quilombola People of Mocajuba
This initiative reinforces the commitment of the Government of Pará to bring more quality of life and access to public policies to the traditional peoples of the State

More than a hundred families from the Quilombola Community Tambaí-Açu, in Mocajuba, northeast of the State, were benefited with the Family Farming Registration (CAF) this week. The delivery was made by the Government of Pará, through the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company of the State of Pará (Emater-Pará).
In total, 115 CAFs were delivered to the quilombola families, who from now on will be able to access public policies for social development and food security, such as the Food Acquisition Program (PAA), National School Feeding Program (PNAE), National Rural Housing Program (PNHR), National Program for Strengthening Family Farming (Pronaf), among others.
For the leader of the quilombo, Maria Deuza Caldas, the delivery of the document and the support from Emater in promoting public policies for traditional peoples is an example of assistance for small farmers.
“We have had a lot of difficulty accessing public policies that are our rights. When I knocked on Emater's door, I was very well received, and everyone in our community was too. Gradually, everyone is receiving their CAFs, and for us, it is very gratifying because, since we started being assisted by Emater, our realities have changed,” she said.
According to the Local Head of Emater in Mocajuba, Jorge Pamplona, the technicians working in the region have been providing technical assistance and rural extension in the Quilombola Community of Tambaí-Açu since 2023. "Since then, we have issued more than 200 CAFs for community beneficiaries, enabling them to access PNAE, PAA, PNHR, Pronaf, Maternity Aid, and Retirement. This time, we delivered 115 new CAFs to provide this support to the quilombolas, bringing more dignity, quality of life, and income improvement along with other collective benefits,” he said.

Policy on Diffuse and Collective Rights - Emater Pará has the Policy on Diffuse and Collective Rights, which was established through Ordinance No. 0456/2023, dated 07/05/2023, and implemented on 07/10/2023. It assigns policies of equity in gender, generation, race, and ethnicity relations as a priority for the company to implement general guidelines, as well as providing technical assistance and rural extension services to indigenous peoples, quilombola communities, and women, among others.
For the president of Emater, Joniel Abreu, actions like this one carried out in Quilombo Tambaí-Açu demonstrate the commitment of the Government of Pará to valuing quilombola farmers located throughout the State.
“As Emater, we have the obligation to bring rights to all family farmers in the state. We established our Policy on Diffuse and Collective Rights, which brings development to the countryside, so that this translates into improvements in the work of quilombolas, indigenous peoples, and peoples of African descent, among others. This is another example of the work done in the field by our rural extensionists, who bring much more dignity to those at the grassroots level and improve the quality of life for small farmers,” he emphasized.
