Early childhood education in Marajó will have two more daycare centers
Vice Governor Hana Ghassan oversees construction in Soure and Salvaterra, strengthening early childhood care in the archipelago

The municipalities of Soure and Salvaterra, in the Marajó region, will gain two more units of the "Daycare Centers Throughout Pará" Program, reinforcing early childhood education in the archipelago. The construction was visited by Vice Governor Hanna Ghassan this Thursday (16), concluding her agenda in the region.
"In Marajó, the construction of the daycare centers is in full swing. Now, it's time to prepare for the deliveries. These are projects that will change the lives of our children in the region, providing more quality education and support for families," emphasized the Vice Governor of Pará.

In Salvaterra, the investment is R$ 4.25 million. The construction is already 95% completed, with a delivery forecast for December of this year. In Soure, the investment is R$ 4.12 million, and the works are 80% executed.

Each daycare center will have the capacity to serve 200 children, from zero to five years old. The facilities will include multipurpose classrooms and teachers' rooms; children's, adult, and accessible bathrooms for People with Disabilities (PwD); a breastfeeding room; a lactation room; a diaper changing area; a covered patio; a playground; a hammock area; a garden; in addition to a kitchen, dining room, laundry, pantry, office, management, storage, and locker room for staff.

By providing care, safety, and quality education for children, the new daycare centers will enable many mothers to return to the job market, promoting job creation and income for local families.
The Marajó region already has one daycare center delivered by the state government to the municipality of Melgaço and will now benefit from two more units, with deliveries expected between December of this year and early 2026, significantly expanding early childhood education services in the region.

During the week, the Vice Governor also inspected three other ongoing units located in Cachoeira do Arari, Santa Cruz do Arari, and Ponta de Pedras, all progressing at an accelerated pace.

So far, the state has already delivered daycare centers in Belém, Ananindeua, Benevides, Oriximiná, Redenção, Cumaru do Norte, Almeirim, Bannach, Melgaço, Curuçá, Marabá, and Igarapé-Açu, positively impacting the lives of more than two thousand families in Pará.

The "Daycare Centers Throughout Pará" Program plans to build 150 units in various regions of the state. It is an unprecedented action by the state government, with an investment of over R$ 400 million.
