Government of Pará delivers the 172nd reconstructed and modernized school in the capital
Albanízia de Oliveira Lima State School, located in the Marco neighborhood, received over R$ 6.8 million in investments and expands its structure for 1,100 high school students

The Government of Pará, through the State Department of Education (Seduc), delivered on Thursday (16), the Albanízia de Oliveira Lima State School, located in the Marco neighborhood in Belém. The unit is the 172nd school reconstructed by the State and has been completely modernized to offer more comfort and better teaching conditions to the school community.
The delivery was conducted by Governor Helder Barbalho and Vice Governor Hana Ghassan, who toured the new facilities and highlighted the importance of investments in educational infrastructure.

“This school is an example of public education in the State of Pará. Here were the best essay scores from the Enem among all public schools in our state in the last selection process. There were 150 approved students, and now, with the school completely renovated and expanded, we will be enhancing the structure so that these fantastic students can achieve even better results,” said Governor Helder Barbalho.

Helder also emphasized that Albanízia de Oliveira Lima is “an example of the quality of public education and a reference to be followed by all schools in the State,” reinforcing the government's commitment to replicate good pedagogical and structural practices in all regions of Pará.
Recognized excellence
With 25 years of history, the school stands out for its performance in the Basic Education Development Index (Ideb) and in the Basic Education Assessment System (Saeb), achieving a score of 4.9 in 2023, which consolidated it as one of the references of the state network. The unit also achieved second place among state schools in the Metropolitan Region of Belém in the Ideb of the same year.

Currently, 1,100 students are enrolled in the morning and afternoon shifts. The school was expanded from 14 to 20 classrooms and now includes new learning and living spaces, such as a maker space, a game room (for 80 people), two auditoriums (260 seats), a computer lab, a language room, a library, and a new sports court.
Investment and appreciation of the school community
With a total investment of R$ 6,899,671.02, the works generated about 70 direct jobs and ensured significant improvements in infrastructure. The Deputy Secretary of Basic Education of Seduc, Júlio Meireles, highlighted that the unit is on its way to becoming a full-time school.

“This is a school that previously had 14 classrooms and now has 20. There are 1,100 students transitioning to full-time. It is a moment of happiness for the community because we are delivering a completely equipped school. Our goal is to enhance the pedagogical policy to continue advancing,” he pointed out.
Vice Governor Hana Ghassan reinforced the role of education as a tool for transformation and highlighted the collective effort for the delivery of the work.

“Today we are delivering a brand new school, and I want to thank each one who contributed to get us here. It is a team effort. To the students, I want to say: you are an inspiration to many other young people in the public and private networks. The sky is the limit for each of you,” said Hana.
Student Liana Dulce, from the 2nd year of high school, expressed her emotion at seeing the results of the works. “It is a feeling of great gratitude. I followed the entire renovation process and saw the evolution of the school. We hope that our education continues to evolve more and more,” she stated.

Student Enzo Santos, also from the 2nd year, highlighted the transformation of the spaces. "Before, the classrooms were not air-conditioned, there was a lack of equipment and comfort. Now we have a cozy and modern environment. I thank you for seeing all this happen,” he celebrated.
The school principal, Jorge Theo Queiroz, who has been working at the unit for 14 years, highlighted the impact of the investment on the appreciation of education. “Today, we have a welcoming school that allows for even better pedagogical work. This is the government that has invested the most in education and in public servants. It is a milestone for all of us,” he stated.
During the agenda, students participating in the activities of the Educational TV, broadcasted by channel 7.2, presented personalized shirts to the governor and the vice governor. The channel is an initiative of Seduc that expands the reach of education throughout Pará, with content aligned to the state curriculum and external assessments.
The classes of Educational TV reinforce essential learning in Portuguese Language, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Human Sciences, strengthening students' preparation for academic and professional challenges.
