During the days of October 21 to 23, the Special Operations Battalion (BOPE) of the Military Police of the State of Pará participated in the Interagency Hunters training, coordinated by the Division of Reconnaissance and Hunters (DRC) of the Brazilian Army Special Operations Command (COpEsp), held in Goiânia. The training also included the presence of the Tactical Operations Command (COT) of the Federal Police and the 6th Special Forces Operations Detachment (6th DOFEsp) of the Army. The main objective was to enhance joint work among elite forces in high-risk operations, in the context of preparation for the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30), which will be hosted in Belém in November.

BOPE worked side by side with the Army and the Federal Police, demonstrating a high technical level and operational integration capability. “The participation of BOPE in this type of training reinforces our commitment to technical improvement and integration among forces. We are preparing for any scenario, especially given the responsibility that Pará will have in hosting COP30,” highlighted Lieutenant Colonel Rocha, commander of BOPE of PMPA.

Simulations and new technologies

On the 23rd, the program included workshops on progression in high-risk areas, with reactive forces as role players and the use of D7 laser simulation equipment. The teams also observed demonstrations of materials from the Command Actions Battalion (BAC) and participated in a simulation of capturing a terrorist element in an unregulated housing area, using the Guarani armored vehicle and RMAX technology, which allows remote control of mounted machine guns.

The activities concluded with an exhibition of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) materials and a joint briefing for performance evaluation and identification of improvement opportunities. The presence of BOPE in the Interagency Hunters reinforces the commitment of the Government of Pará to strengthen the Military Police as a strategic force in building a modern, integrated public security system prepared to face high-complexity challenges, reaffirming the institution's dedication to protecting the people of Pará.
