Students from the São Francisco de Assis State School in the Tapanã neighborhood of Belém won 1st place in the "Cultural Contest for Sustainable Posters and Banners," promoted by the Regional Labor Court of the 8th Region (TRT8), as part of the 2025 Círio Campaign. The award ceremony took place on Friday (24).

The campaign encourages students' learning through art and environmental education, focusing on the theme of combating child labor, raising awareness for everyone in schools and during the Círio processions.

Participating for the first time, the educational unit, linked to the Regional Education Directorate (DRE) Belém 8, won and received the award from the hands of the Minister of the Superior Labor Court (TST), Lelio Bentes.

Student Paola Fabiele Cavalheiro, from the 4th grade, who participated in the poster creation, says that "the contest was good, and they said that children cannot work and it is very important for children to study about child labor," she said.

The school's principal, Milene Souza, emphasizes that campaigns like this are a stimulus for children and for collective awareness.

"We are honored with the award, our poster was a collective production with some students from the school, through raising awareness about how harmful child labor is in a child's life and leading them to understand the importance of guaranteeing their rights, expressing this learning through art and socio-environmental education."

Teachers Elza Melo and Rosemary Carvalho mediated this construction assertively and transdisciplinarily,” emphasized the principal. With support from the Archdiocese of Belém and the Círio de Nazaré Directorate, the contest was aimed at public schools and entities in the capital of Pará.
