The Government of Pará, through the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), signed on Wednesday (29), a Technical Cooperation Agreement with 99, a technology company focused on urban mobility and convenience, aiming to integrate the "emergency button" available in the Security Center of the app, to the emergency and urgency system of the Integrated Operations Center (Ciop), the 190.

The signing of the agreement took place at the Segup headquarters, in the Marco neighborhood in Belém, by the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense, Ualame Machado, and by the Director of Government Relations of 99, Irina Cezar.

According to the head of Segup, Ualame Machado, the initiative demonstrates, once again, the advancement of the security system in Pará, ensuring the agility of assistance in emergency cases.

Secretary Ualame Machado

“We are advancing in technology investment, this time in partnership with the company 99, where we will integrate their data system with our Ciop system, our 190 that handles emergency calls. In an emergency situation, danger, partner drivers and users of the platform can activate an alert button that will connect directly to Ciop, with geolocation so that we can respond to the occurrence and ensure more protection for the user and also for the app driver. An important advancement and a lot of technology in partnership with the private sector so that we can guarantee, more and more, the protection of the people of Pará,” said Ualame Machado.

Pará is the second state in the country to establish a partnership with 99 to receive the resources "Verification in Blitz" and "Call the Police". The integration of the systems will provide more security and also speed in responses to emergency situations that occur during trips mediated by the platform.

The data sharing will also allow the information to be used for incident records after emergency responses related to passengers and drivers during the use of the app.

Irina Frare Cezar, dir. of Government Relations at 99

For the Director of Government Relations at 99, Irina Cezar, the partnership between the company and the Government of Pará is essential to ensure more safety in the trips made by drivers and passengers in the state. “Today, 99 drivers make about 3.5 million trips monthly within the state of Pará. For us, it is extremely important that they have the utmost safety in their operations. And that is precisely why we are entering into this partnership with the Government of the State of Pará, providing the emergency button, checking the registration status of this driver within our platform and also providing vouchers for women victims of domestic violence, so they can turn to safety equipment, to hospital equipment, if necessary. So, for us, it is a pleasure to celebrate this with the Government of Pará. This is our second partnership regarding this emergency button, first we were in Rio de Janeiro and now we are coming here to Pará,” emphasized the director.

Emergency button - In a trip mediated by 99, in the face of a risk and/or emergency situation, the passenger or partner driver can activate the “Call the Police” button in the app's security center. Automatically, Ciop will receive emergency data, such as real-time location, address where the trip started, information about the vehicle, the passenger, and the partner driver. Thus, security agents will be alerted and directed to the location where the vehicle is, ensuring speed in assistance and the safety of drivers and passengers.

Verification in Blitz - During a police approach, in case of suspicion of illicit acts, the public security agent can consult, in real-time, whether the partner driver or motorcyclist is active in the 99 database, if they have made trips in the last seven days and if they are on a trip at the time of the approach.

After the signing of the Technical Cooperation Agreement, technical operational adjustments of the integrated system will be finalized and starting in November, the functionalities will be available to 99 users.

The agreement with the mobility company will also include the provision of vouchers for women victims of violence registered in the protection programs for women coordinated by Segup. The rides will be requested based on the occurrence and direction through the teams of Segup and the Civil Police, as needed for free transportation to attend any of the protection network units.
