Pará is the third Brazilian state that invested the most from January to August 2025
In the first two quadrimesters, the state of Pará invested R$ 3.6 billion, an amount 20% higher compared to the same period of the previous year
Pará reached third place among the states that invested the most in the first two quadrimesters of this year, according to data from the Brazilian Public Sector Accounting and Fiscal Information System – Siconfi, from the National Treasury Secretariat, which gathers official information provided every four months by all state treasury administrations.
Bahia was the leader in investments with a total of R$ 4.12 billion disbursed in the social and infrastructure areas from January to August, in net values. In second place was São Paulo, with R$ 3.66 billion invested. Pará totaled R$ 3.57 billion; Minas Gerais, R$ 3.06 billion; and Goiás R$ 2.88 billion.
From January to August 2025, the state of Pará invested R$ 3.6 billion, an amount 20% higher compared to the same period of the previous year, when the investment was R$ 2.9 billion. Of the amounts invested this year, R$ 2.3 billion, or 63.79%, were allocated to transportation and urbanism functions related to urban and rural mobility in the state, mainly for the expenses of creating new avenues and expanding existing roads, aiming to structure Belém and the metropolitan region for COP30.
"It is worth highlighting the government's spending on sanitation, a function that involves the entire set of public services related to: potable water supply, sewage collection and treatment, solid waste management, and stormwater drainage. In the eight months of 2025, R$ 343.2 million were spent, an increase of 260.67% compared to the same period last year, when R$ 95.2 million were invested," informed the Secretary of Finance, René Sousa Júnior.
Among the sanitation works, the major highlight was the completion of the Una Treatment Station – ETE UNA, the largest Sewage Treatment Station (ETE) ever built in Pará, which will directly benefit over 90,000 residents of ten neighborhoods in Belém: Marco, São Brás, Sacramenta, Telégrafo, Pedreira, Fátima, Umarizal, Reduto, Nazaré, and Campina.
Other highlights of the investments made until August 2025 were education, with R$ 262.1 million, and health, with R$ 127.1 million.
