GdP advances with partnerships to enable the distribution of Natural Gas throughout the State
The meeting addressed the transportation of the material via highways and waterways, so that the Natural Gas from Barcarena can reach the West and Southeast of Pará, as well as Belém and its Metropolitan Region.
Gas from Pará and New Fortress Energy (NFE) met with the Reicon Group in Rio de Janeiro (RJ) this Thursday (30) to begin defining the logistics for transporting Natural Gas in Pará. The meeting, held at Renave, the company's river and road shipyard, discussed the transportation of the material via highways and waterways, so that the Natural Gas from Barcarena can reach the West and Southeast of Pará, as well as Belém and its Metropolitan Region.
“We started studying, together with NFE, a way to take LNG from Barcarena to the interior of the State. Since our State is a country called Pará, we have a difficult logistics, whether by land or by river. We also seek to discuss how to bring the product to Belém and the Metropolitan Region, to start the distribution of commercial gas and vehicular natural gas (GNV),” explains the president of Gas from Pará, Flexa Ribeiro, after the meeting with representatives from New Fortress Energy, Leandro Cunha and Rodrigo Pinho.
Defined with NFE, the meeting was held at the headquarters of Reicon, represented by José Rebelo III, the group's director, along with managers Francisco Guzzo Júnior and Pelágio Carvalho, while New Fortress had Rodrigo Pinho as a participant. From Gas from Pará, the president Flexa Ribeiro and the technical and commercial director Paulo Guardado were present. At the Renave headquarters, manager Pelágio Carvalho from the Reicon Group presented the study conducted with navigation knowledge of the Amazon region. In this initial idea, the necessary road section to take the GN from Gas from Pará directly to each consumer client's plant was also included. “From this meeting, we will start working with the technical areas of the three companies to reach the best solution, enabling Natural Gas 'Throughout Pará', following the determination of Governor Helder and Vice Hana,” highlights Flexa Ribeiro.
“Representatives from various companies and municipalities interested in using Natural Gas are seeking GdP to start the energy transition. We are studying ways to bring GN to all interested locations and companies,” emphasizes Flexa.
The working group created with the participation of the technical areas of the three companies will act so that by the beginning of 2026, the conditions for transportation and supply are defined, in order to serve new customers of Natural Gas in the State.
