The State Department of Traffic (Detran) has set up a special operation to ensure the flow and road safety during the Global Citizen Festival, which will be held for the first time in Belém. The Olympic Stadium of Pará Journalist Edgar Proença, Mangueirão, will host this event that gives voice to the sustainable agenda on the planet. The Festival attracts a large audience and, this year, takes place almost a week before the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30), which will also be held in the capital of Pará.

The action is part of the security and mobility plan developed jointly by state and municipal agencies. According to the planning, the Municipal Secretary of Security, Public Order, and Urban Mobility of Belém (Segbel) will be responsible for organizing traffic on Avenida Transmangueirão, while Detran will control the flow of vehicles on Avenida Augusto Montenegro.

According to Detran's Operations Coordinator, Ivan Feitosa, the goal is to avoid congestion and ensure the smooth arrival of the public at the stadium. "We recommend that those coming by private car arrive early to purchase tickets and avoid difficulties accessing the paid parking," advises the coordinator.

Changes - During the event, Transmangueirão will operate one-way, from Avenida Centenário to Augusto Montenegro. No significant changes are planned for Augusto Montenegro, but agents may use the exclusive BRT lanes if necessary to improve flow. The interventions will begin at 3 PM, two hours before the show starts.

The BRT System will operate normally, but with full fleet capacity reinforcement to meet the expected high demand. All conventional lines departing from the São Brás and Maracacuera terminals will operate normally during the event.

Upon the public's return, between midnight and 2 AM, there will be free public transportation, ensuring the safe movement of participants after the Festival ends.

Drivers opting for app-based transport or taxis should pay attention to the designated pick-up and drop-off areas. Detran also emphasizes the importance of carrying all mandatory documents for the vehicle and the driver. "Although the main focus is to ensure good flow, inspections will be maintained, and any infractions will be recorded, including the use of the breathalyzer (equipment that detects alcohol consumption)," highlighted Ivan Feitosa.
