Winning teachers of the Pará Education Innovation Award receive Chromebooks
Seduc awarded prizes to teachers from the state public network who took the top spots in the secretary's contest
The State Department of Education (Seduc) delivered, on Monday (3), the Chromebooks to the winning teachers of the Pará Education Innovation Award from the state public network, promoted by the secretary.
The initiative by Seduc aimed to recognize and value the teachers of the state education network for developing innovative pedagogical practices using digital technologies. The teachers needed to highlight experiences that integrated technology and learning with the use of the Chromebooks provided through the 'Conecta Educação' program.
For José Martins, a Mathematics teacher at the Cordeiro de Farias State School in Belém, the initiative is positive. “An excellent idea, very good for us, teachers, as it is an additional incentive for us because it will help us with our academic work and also improve our work in the classroom,” said the teacher.
Martins developed the theme: “Smart Cane for Assistance to Visually Impaired Individuals with Arduino,” based on a dynamic where students needed to create an object that would assist a visually impaired person in their mobility.
In total, ten teachers were awarded, including the top two who traveled to São Paulo to visit Google’s headquarters.
The Secretary of Education, Ricardo Sefer, highlighted the essential role of teachers. “I want to congratulate and thank the teachers — not only in my name but on behalf of your students, who will now have access to an education with even more quality, more dynamic and modern classes. Our commitment is to value everyone who is part of the Seduc team, especially those who are on the front lines, making a difference in the lives of students,” emphasized Secretary Ricardo Sefer.
In addition to the delivery of the Chromebooks, the teachers also received a certificate as a form of recognition for their work. The Deputy Secretary of Basic Education at Seduc, Júlio Meireles, was also present at the award ceremony and highlighted the dedication of the state network teachers to building quality education.
“Today is a day to celebrate those who often work in anonymity but carry the responsibility of transforming lives. They are tireless individuals who make a difference every day in schools and inspire their students to dream and believe in a better future. I want to sincerely thank each one for their work, leadership, and daily commitment. The certificate is a symbolic gesture, but it represents recognition for everything these teachers have done for our students and for education in Pará. By recognizing their work, we also acknowledge the effort and dedication of all the teachers in our network. Thank you very much and congratulations,” emphasized Deputy Júlio Meireles.
