Bicycle rides are one of the leisure options at Utinga State Park, in the heart of the urban area of Belém

Starting this Tuesday (4), Utinga State Park will have a special operating scheme due to the high number of visitors participating in the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP30. The conservation unit located in the heart of the capital of Pará preserves a representative sample of the Amazon biome in 1,300 hectares, just a few kilometers from the center of global climate discussions.

The space, managed by the Institute of Forest Development and Biodiversity of Pará (Ideflor-Bio) and the Social Organization Pará 2000, will open every day this November, from 6 AM to 5 PM, to meet the high demand. The location offers leisure options such as walking trails and bicycle rides, as well as paid entertainment options, such as the Biodiversity Fair, featuring products derived from family farming and sustainable crafts.

Throughout this November, Utinga Park will open daily from 6 AM to 5 PM

The manager of the Administrative Region of Belém at Ideflor-Bio, Júlio Meyer, reiterates that the initiative ensures one more day of visitation for the public. “This uninterrupted opening of Utinga State Park during COP30 allows everyone in Belém, especially due to the Conference, to appreciate the space and contemplate the importance of the Amazon without needing to distance themselves from the center of the capital,” he emphasized.

Júlio Meyer also highlights that the activities and services available in the conservation unit will also be available during the special operating period. “All snack bars will be operating normally, as well as ecotourism services, including zip-lining, canoeing, tubing, among other services available on site,” added the manager.

Utinga State Park offers small canoeing trips, this service is paid

The space welcomes visitors of all ages and also schedules school and university visits, which can be requested via email grb.dgmuc@gmail.com.
