Sefa seizes 33,480 bottles of cachaça in Serra do Cachimbo, municipality of Novo Progresso
To collect the state tax and the fine, a Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was drawn up, amounting to R$ 97,032.59.
During an inspection by the State Department of Finance (Sefa), conducted by inspectors assigned to the Coordination of Goods in Transit Control in Serra do Cachimbo, at km-785 of the BR-163 Highway (Cuiabá-Santarém), in the municipality of Novo Progresso, southwestern Pará, on this Tuesday (4), a load consisting of 33,480 bottles of 965 ml of cachaça was seized. The material originated from Pirassununga (SP) and was destined for a company in Manaus (AM). The load was valued at R$ 155,988.90.
“During the inspection carried out, a load of alcoholic beverages was seized. The load was seized after the fiscal documents were analyzed and it was confirmed that the recipient company, in the State of Amazonas, is suspended from the state registry, and therefore cannot purchase goods,” informed the coordinator of the tax unit, Maycon Freitas.
The Central Traffic Monitoring (Cemotran), a unit of Sefa that controls the transportation of goods, issued an alert regarding the load, and the beverage began to have its movement monitored.
