Governor Helder Barbalho delivered another daycare center, advancing the goal of reaching all municipalities

The Government of Pará, through the State Department of Education (Seduc), continues to invest in strengthening public education from early childhood. As part of the "Daycares Across Pará" Program, this Thursday (5), the municipality of Altamira, in the Xingu Integration Region, in western Pará, was awarded the delivery of the public facility, which has the structure to serve children from 200 families in situations of social vulnerability.

The daycare center Professora Iranilda Aranha Alves will provide a safe and welcoming environment for children aged 0 to 5 years. The delivery was conducted by Governor Helder Barbalho, Vice Governor Hana Ghassan, and State Secretary of Education, Ricardo Sefer.

“This is the 14th daycare center we are delivering, reaching the municipality of Altamira. Children aged 0 to 5 years have the opportunity for quality education, cared for by our teachers. This allows the child to be in an appropriate environment, enabling parents to go to work with the peace of mind of knowing their children are safe. This was a commitment we made with the municipality, in partnership with the City Hall, which provides the land, and the state government builds and ensures the furniture. Now, it goes back to the care of the Municipal Department of Education, so that we can immediately open the doors for these children to be served,” emphasized Governor Helder Barbalho.

Structure - With an investment of over R$ 4 million, the space includes nine classrooms, a multipurpose room, five bathrooms, an office, coordination, a teachers' room, a pantry/kitchen, a storage room, a service area, a lactation room, and a nursery with space for breastfeeding, a changing table, and a cleaning material deposit (DML).

Educator Ane Pompeu: daycare is a space of protection

For Ane Pompeu, a baby teacher, the initiative of the daycare is necessary for the protection of children. “First of all, I would like to congratulate our governor and our vice governor for looking after the daycare. I am a defender of daycare because I believe that a child in a daycare is prevented from being mistreated and, often, violated,” emphasized the teacher.

In addition to the internal environment, the daycares built by the State have outdoor living areas, a sand playground, a garden, and outdoor bathing, providing a complete environment for pedagogical and recreational activities.

Karine da Silva: daycare is an important milestone

Expectation - The structure of the space was highlighted by teacher Karine Melo da Silva, mother of Luiz Gustavo, 4 months. “I think that for the neighborhood, this is an important milestone, especially for mothers who want to work, or due to the need to take the child to the center. Due to the distance, it ends up being a hindrance. And the daycare helps a lot with that. In terms of safety, we see that it is a well-structured place. We are happy about that. The daycare is a highly anticipated environment. We believe that qualified professionals will come. I, as a teacher, also want a spot here, even to keep an eye on the children. We have to trust and believe that they will be the best professionals,” said Karine.

The construction represents an important advance in expanding the public network of early childhood education, contributing to the educational and social development of the region, emphasized Vice Governor Hana Ghassan. “I want to thank God for this very important moment. To Him, all honor and glory for us being here today, delivering this daycare center, from the 'Daycares Across Pará' Program. Tomorrow is the anniversary of the beloved municipality of Altamira, a very important municipality for the State of Pará. And there is no better way to celebrate than by delivering the facility that will care for the families here in Altamira,” reinforced the vice governor.

Vice Governor Hana Ghassan highlighted the role of the daycare in caring for families

Safe Environment - The "Daycares Across Pará" Program is an unprecedented initiative of the state administration, which will benefit about 30,000 families throughout Pará, allowing mothers to leave their children in a safe environment while returning to the job market. The goal is to invest over R$ 400 million in the construction of 150 Early Childhood Education units. In cities with larger populations, two daycare centers will be built.

The impact of the Program is already being felt in the 13 daycare centers delivered, which welcome children in the municipalities of Belém, Oriximiná, Ananindeua, Benevides, Redenção, Cumaru do Norte, Bannach, Almeirim, Melgaço, Curuçá, Marabá, Igarapé-Açu, and Magalhães Barata, in the Metropolitan, West, Southeast, South, and Northeast regions, and also in the Marajó Archipelago.
