The Stations provide medical and dental care and a multidisciplinary team, and will maintain services until November 22

The first Medical Care Stations (PAMs) supporting the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30) are now operational. One is set up at the Mercado de São Brás and another around Ver-o-Peso and Estação das Docas using mobile units.

The Stations offer medical and dental care and a multidisciplinary team, and will remain at these locations until November 22. The purpose is to provide urgent and emergency care of low complexity to participants of the various events related to COP30 and the general population.

Sespa reiterates that the Stations ensure urgent and emergency care of low complexity

Mrs. Joana de Souza, a 66-year-old self-employed woman, was one of the people attended at the PAM at Estação das Docas. She was heading to the airport when she saw the unit and entered. She rated the installation of the station during COP30 as positive. "I feel privileged to receive this care," she commented after having her blood pressure checked.

Maynara Amador, a 30-year-old cook from Mosqueiro, after shopping at the commercial center, took her 13-year-old daughter Ketellen and her mother Raquel for care. Ketellen has been experiencing chest pains and has been getting tired easily, while her grandmother had a dental problem. "We have a lot of difficulty getting an appointment in Mosqueiro, so it was very good to find this unit here," she said.

Other stations - The next PAM to operate will be at Aldeia COP, at the Application School of the Federal University of Pará (former NPI), on Avenida Perimetral, starting November 8 to support indigenous people.

The PAMs from the Usinas da Paz will start operating from November 10. From November 10 to 23, there will also be a Medical Care Station at the Mirante da UFPA, aimed at the Peoples' Summit. In addition, from November 11 to 16, a station will operate at the accommodation of the Summit participants on Avenida Alcindo Cacela; and another to support the Childhood Summit at the Institute of Applied Social Sciences of UFPA (ICSA), from November 10 to 16.

According to the technical director of the State Department of Public Health (Sespa), Carla Figueiredo, the PAMs provide low-complexity urgent care for participants of events related to COP30, visitors, and the general population who need emergency assistance. "If necessary, the user is referred to other health units for specialized care," explained the director.

All care is recorded in an application for monitoring by the Integrated Center for Joint Health Operations (CIOCS), which aims to monitor health during COP30.

The actions are coordinated by the State Department of Public Health (Sespa) and involve the work of servers from the "Health for All Pará" program and various directorates of the department, including the Directorate of Comprehensive Health Care Policies (Dpais), the Health Surveillance Directorate (DVS), the Directorate of Development and Audit of Health Services (DDASS), and the 1st Regional Health Center.
