In Altamira, the Seduc team with public education teachers from the Xingu region aligned pedagogical actions

The Regional Education Directorate (DRE) of Altamira received, on Wednesday, the 5th, a visit from the State Department of Education (Seduc) with the aim of listening to local demands, aligning pedagogical actions, and strengthening public education in the Xingu region.

The agenda was led by the State Secretary of Education, Ricardo Sefer, who met with staff at the DRE headquarters and discussed goals and challenges of public education.

This initiative is part of a schedule of technical visits being conducted in all Regional Directorates of the State, reinforcing the commitment of the Government of Pará to a management that is increasingly close and participatory.

“The visits to the regional offices aim to bring us closer to the school community, understand local realities, and align strategies so that every student in Pará has access to quality public education. We are listening to the teams, recognizing the work being developed, and together, adjusting paths to strengthen education throughout the state,” emphasized Secretary Ricardo Sefer.

The head of DRE Altamira, André Luiz, highlighted the importance of the management's presence. “Receiving the secretary is always of great value. The expectation is high for him to closely experience our routine, struggles, and victories, to know our schools, and, together with us, seek the best paths both in structural and pedagogical issues. The entire team was anxious and happy with this visit,” he stated.

During the visit, the delegation also went to the state schools Polivalente and Professora Dairce Pedrosa Torres, where the secretary spoke with students and management teams, reinforcing direct dialogue with the school community.

School Garden

The agenda also included the delivery of the School Garden “Eco Ducilla” at the State School Professora Ducilla Almeida do Nascimento. The space was implemented with resources from the Paraense Money in School Program (Prodep), an initiative of the Government of Pará, through Seduc, which grants financial autonomy to schools for the execution of pedagogical, structural, and innovation projects.

The school principal, Luzia Bernardes, highlighted that the initiative made a long-standing dream of the school community a reality.

“This garden project had been envisioned for many years, but we could not execute it due to lack of resources. With Prodep, the dream came to life. Now we have a structured garden, with durable beds and active participation from the students, who learned cultivation techniques and took this knowledge home. It was a collective and very gratifying achievement,” she celebrated.

The garden, built with the involvement of students from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd years of high school, aims to promote environmental education, healthy eating, and interdisciplinary practical learning. The project integrates content from Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, and encourages sustainability, teamwork, and environmental responsibility.
