Athlete Deyse Silva Represents Pará in the Brazilian Bowling Selection Championship
Deyse Silva won the South American Championship, was the runner-up in the Individual Brazilian Championship, and placed 5th in the world championship in the United States among 37 countries
With the support of the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Sports and Leisure (Seel), the Pará bowling athlete, Deyse Silva, will represent the State in the 45th edition of the Brazilian Bowling Selection Championship, which will take place from November 20 to 23 at the Boliche Social Clube Aerotown in Rio de Janeiro (RJ).
The national event will bring together about 26 state teams and a total of 156 athletes from all over the country. Deyse, who has been collecting achievements throughout the year, recently stood out on the international scene by representing the Brazilian Bowling Team at the Senior World Championship held in Reno, Nevada (USA).
The athlete achieved 5th place in the doubles event alongside athlete Marizete Scheee from Mato Grosso. The competition gathered representatives from 37 countries and over 100 athletes from various parts of the world.
In addition, the Pará native was also the champion of the South American Bowling Championship in July in Lima, Peru, and the runner-up of the Individual Brazilian Championship in September in Belo Horizonte-MG, establishing herself as one of the top athletes in the country in the sport.
"I came from a South American Championship as a champion and runner-up in the Individual Brazilian Championship, and now in the United States, placing 5th in the world among 37 countries was truly an unprecedented achievement. It is a very difficult competition; we knew we could go far, but reaching this position exceeded expectations and showed the strength of our work," said Deyse Silva.
The athlete emphasizes the importance of participating in the Brazilian Championship to maintain her position in the national ranking. "Since it is the last event of the calendar, the points are higher. It is essential to perform well to remain among the top six in the ranking and stay in the qualification zone for the 2026 national team call-up," she added.
The State Secretary of Sports and Leisure, Cássio Andrade, highlighted the importance of the Government of Pará's support for high-performance athletes. "The Government of Pará has been investing heavily in sports across all modalities, and bowling is one of them. Deyse is a pride for our State, an example of dedication, talent, and overcoming. Supporting athletes like her ensures that Pará continues to be a national and international reference in sports," said the secretary.
Currently, more than 1,500 athletes have received support from the Government of Pará through Seel in various sports modalities, reinforcing the State's commitment to the development of amateur sports and the encouragement of high performance.
