Civil Police donates seized cargo to charitable institutions
About 2.5 tons of pirarucu, which were seized during an operation by Denarc, were donated to 10 philanthropic institutions
On the morning of this Friday (07), the Civil Police of the State of Pará, through the State Narcotics Division (Denarc), donated 2.5 tons of pirarucu to ten philanthropic entities. The cargo was seized during an operation that also located 260 blocks of narcotic substances.
"Our Denarc team carried out an operation in conjunction with the Federal Highway Police and the Federal Revenue, which culminated in the seizure of 260 blocks of marijuana and cocaine. During the actions, we verified that there was a cargo of more than two tons of pirarucu. So we represented to the Judiciary, through the Guarantee Judge Court of the Metropolitan Region of Belém, which granted the donation," explained delegate David Bahury.
Understand the case - The Denarc operation took place on October 28 of this year. The civil police, along with teams from the Federal Highway Police and the Federal Revenue, found the drugs in the tire of a truck.
The bags containing salted pirarucu were inside the vehicle and had no documentation of origin or tax collection. Even though they were in suitable conditions for consumption, it was an irregular cargo.
"We contacted those responsible for the Mesa Brasil program, which distributes food. Today, we carried out the donation of this cargo to ten philanthropic institutions. This is also an action that is part of the mission of PCPA and it is gratifying to know that in this way we are helping people in need," concluded the delegate.
