Capacita COP30 Program Transforms Lives and Achieves Nearly 46 Thousand Certifications
Government initiative from Pará prepared the population for the opportunities generated by the environmental conference, leading to 'Capacita Pará', with more courses and greater reach
The Capacita COP30 Program concluded its course offerings with nearly 46 thousand certifications issued, establishing itself as one of the largest professional qualification initiatives ever carried out in the State. Created by the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Science, Technology and Higher, Professional and Technological Education (Sectet), the Program prepared the population for the opportunities generated by the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30), which will take place in Belém from November 10 to 21.
According to the State Secretary of Science, Technology and Higher, Professional and Technological Education, Victor Dias, the Program was one of the pillars of Pará's preparation to host the global event, uniting qualification, inclusion, and citizenship. “Capacita COP30 is more than just a course program. It is a tool for social transformation. We prepared Pará to welcome the world, but above all, we prepared the people of Pará for the future. Each certified person is a story of overcoming and growth,” he emphasized.
The free courses were offered in strategic areas such as tourism, hospitality, sustainability, languages, food production, and green economy, in partnership with various institutions, including the National Service for Industrial Learning (Senai), National Service for Commercial Learning (Senac), Brazilian Service of Support for Micro and Small Enterprises (Sebrae), State School of Public Governance of Pará (EGPA), Federal Institute of Pará (IFPA), State Secretariat of Tourism (Setur), Social Service of Commerce (Sesc), Social Transport Service and National Service for Transport Learning (Sest/Senat), Cielo, and Coca-Cola.
Transformation and Opportunities - Among the thousands of beneficiaries is Victoria Barros Esteves, a resident of Belém, who saw in the initiative an opportunity for personal and professional transformation. "I saw a report about the Program and sought more information. I chose the Hospitality and Accommodation course, as it is an area that has been growing a lot in the city. The experience was wonderful: the teachers, the exchange with colleagues, and the content were incredible. Shortly after completing it, I got a position in a hotel in Belém. I am very happy and fulfilled with this opportunity, and with the chance to learn about new cultures,” she shared.
The Program coordinator, Andrey Rabelo, emphasized that the results achieved reflect the joint effort between the government and partner institutions. “Each certificate represents a new opportunity. Our focus has always been to ensure that the courses had immediate applicability, so that participants could enter or re-enter the job market. The impact of 'Capacita COP30' goes far beyond the COP. It creates a culture of learning and professional appreciation that will remain in the State,” he stated.
Concluded with significant results, the "Capacita COP30" now gives rise to "Capacita Pará", a new phase of the initiative that will expand the reach of actions with more courses, new areas of training, and greater coverage in Pará municipalities, consolidating the commitment of the Government of Pará to human and sustainable development.
