With the start of the public programming of COP30 on Monday (10), the State Department of Public Health of Pará (Sespa) has put into operation the service post in the Green Zone, located within the Parque da Cidade in Belém.

The space is part of the health care network set up specifically for the event, which includes four fixed medical service posts, three installed in the Blue
Zone and one in the Green Zone.

The Green Zone post operates 12 hours a day and offers urgent and emergency care of low complexity to event participants and the public visiting the space. The team consists of a doctor, a nurse, two nursing technicians, a receptionist, and professionals from the Epidemiological Surveillance of Sespa, who work together to ensure agility and safety in care.

"Sespa structured the entire care network for COP30 with the aim of ensuring quick, efficient, and humane medical assistance. The posts have qualified professionals and adequate structure for stabilizing patients, if necessary, in addition to ambulances on standby. This is yet another demonstration of the Government of Pará's commitment to the safety and well-being of all participants," highlighted the State Secretary of Public Health, Ivete Vaz.

The physical structure of the post includes reception and triage, where risk classification is performed, as well as a medical office, medication room, epidemiological surveillance room, and a stabilization room equipped for more serious incidents. When necessary, the patient is stabilized on-site and transported by ambulance to a more suitable reference hospital, according to the type and severity of the case.

"We serve all people circulating in the Green Zone, whether visitors, event participants, or professionals working in the space. The service is completely free. We are also prepared to assist foreigners, with the support of interpreters and professionals who speak other languages," explained nurse Marlon Santos, who works at the Green Zone post.

The three posts in the Blue Zone, located at the COP30 headquarters on Avenida Júlio César, operate throughout the event period, from November 10 to 21. One of them operates 24 hours a day, while the other two function for 12 hours daily, ensuring complete coverage in all shifts.

The care follows protocols tested in large international events, with a standardized flow of reception, triage, and referral, coordinated by the Integrated Center for Joint Health Operations (CIOCS COP30), which brings together teams from Sesma, the Municipal Health Department of Belém (Sesma), and the Ministry of Health (MS).

In addition to medical assistance, Sesma teams, with support from Sespa, also carry out sanitary surveillance actions in food and circulation areas, reinforcing health safety measures throughout the event.

"Pará has prepared to welcome the world, ensuring not only the structure of the conference but also a health system ready to respond efficiently to any situation. COP30 is a historic event, and we are ready to take care of people," concluded Ivete Vaz.
