Seju conducts training for the intersectoral network in São Miguel do Guamá

The State Secretariat of Justice (Seju) held a training action focused on drug use prevention in the municipality of São Miguel do Guamá, in northeastern Pará, this Thursday (13). The initiative, promoted by the Coordination of Prevention, Treatment, and Reduction of Drug Use (Cenpren) of Seju, involved the participation of representatives from civil society and professionals from the intersectoral network, aiming to raise awareness and alert about the risks of chemical dependency.

With the theme "Sustainable strategies for drug use prevention from the perspective of Justice and Equality," the meeting addressed prevention strategies, highlighting risk factors such as social vulnerabilities, family conflicts, and environmental influence, as well as protective factors like strengthening family ties, access to education, culture, sports, and information.

"The activities are conducted to promote learning and reflection on the prevention practices carried out in the community. This type of debate is essential for us to build more effective strategies to prevent drug use, especially among the youth," explains the damage reduction manager of Cenpren, Mateus Garcia.

Collective commitment - The training also aims to enhance joint actions among public policies, strengthening the collective commitment to health promotion. The deputy secretary of education of the municipality, Deuzimar Dantas, emphasizes the dialogue promoted about the effects of chemical dependency.

“It was a moment to reflect on society and the consequences of the use of legal and illegal drugs and their impact on dependent individuals, with the present agencies discussing the topic to have a differentiated perspective on the issue and thus reinforce joint work,” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, the employee of the Social Assistance Secretariat of São Miguel do Guamá, Lionete Santos, reinforced the importance of protective factors against drug risks. “It is important that the intersectoral network strengthens actions aimed at valuing family ties, access to education, leisure opportunities, culture, and sports,” she noted.
