The Bank of the State of Pará (Banpará) received, this Monday (17), two important seals from the Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban): "Prevention of Illicit Activities" and "Socio-environmental Responsibility". The distinction recognizes the institution's commitment to the best practices in the banking sector, including governance, ethics, risk management, and sustainability.

The certification is part of a voluntary program by Febraban, which evaluates financial institutions that adopt high standards of responsible conduct. For the president of Banpará, Ruth Pimentel Mello, "the simultaneous achievement of the two seals reflects the engagement of the bank's teams and the alignment of the institution with national guidelines for a more integral and responsible financial system."

The "Prevention of Illicit Activities" seal recognizes the effectiveness of the bank's policies and mechanisms to prevent money laundering, fraud, scams, and financing of terrorism. The "Socio-environmental Responsibility" seal certifies the incorporation of socio-environmental and climate risk management practices into the institution's business.

For Banpará, this achievement reinforces the bank's commitment to society and consolidates its position as one of the main financial development agents in the Amazon Region.
