Amazônia Jazz Band celebrates Pará music and jazz in a performance at Theatro da Paz
The song 'Lambada do Curupira' will be launched in celebration of COP30
On Thursday, the 20th, the Amazônia Jazz Band will perform "From Jazz to Brega" starting at 8 PM at Theatro da Paz, under the direction of the principal conductor Eduardo Lima and guest Berry Ford, featuring singer Gigi Furtado and pianist Paulo José Campos Neto.
On this occasion, there will also be the world premiere of the song "Lambada do Curupira," a tribute to COP30, authored by percussionist Thiago D’Albuquerque. "It is born with the purpose of valuing the Amazonian sound. The curupira, as the protector of the forest, has this strength just like the music, which is a lambada, a very hot and danceable rhythm," he explains about the creation of the new song.
The show will present jazz classics, the launch of the lambada do curupira, and hits from Pará music, including "At Sunset" and "Dancing in the River" and "Rare Beauty," by Master Damasceno with arrangement by Kim Freitas.
For conductor Eduardo Lima, the concert is a celebration of jazz and Pará music with an eclectic repertoire and a tribute to the moment the city and state are experiencing. "We will pay tribute to the COP30 mascot, the Curupira, with the world premiere of the song 'Lambada do Curupira.' The audience will feel the energy of the music made in the Amazon."
The initiative is organized by the Government of Pará through the State Secretariat of Culture (Secult), Theatro da Paz, Paraense Academy of Music (APM), and sponsored by the Vale Cultural Institute via the Rouanet Law.
Tickets can be purchased for R$ 2, starting at 6 PM on 11/20 at the Ticket Fácil website (ticketfacil.com.br) or at the box office of Theatro da Paz (2 units per person).
