More than a thousand residents of Marabá, in southeastern Pará, received new prescription glasses on Wednesday (19) through the program “For All of Them”. The initiative from the state government has ensured access to eye health and strengthened health, citizenship, and inclusion actions for Pará women and their families.

The delivery took place at the Usina da Paz in the municipality and benefited 1,304 people who were attended in consultations and ophthalmological exams conducted previously in the project's action, which occurred on August 26th.

During the delivery, the vice-governor of Pará and creator of the program "For All of Them", Hana Ghassan, spoke about the satisfaction of ensuring benefits for the Marabá population.

“We are very happy to be in Marabá, this municipality so important for the development of our state, bringing opportunities for people. Among the many benefits we are delivering today are the glasses from the 'For All of Them' action, which represent health and quality of life. Today is a day of great joy, to be close to the population, as it should be, bringing benefits to many people who would not have access. The state government continues to work to ensure benefits for those who need it most,” declared the vice-governor.

Residents who received the new vision equipment also celebrated the state initiative, which represents an immediate improvement in quality of life, especially for those who depend on vision to study, work, or carry out daily activities.

Resident Carmem Lúcia was one of the beneficiaries and highlighted the importance of the pair of glasses for those who cannot afford the cost of the equipment. “This is a help for the whole community because many people cannot afford to go to the ophthalmologist, get exams, or buy glasses. Now I have quality glasses that will give me better vision and will help me a lot in my profession, as I need to use my phone a lot, and that affects my eyesight,” she said.
