Detran achieves 3rd place in the Bicicleta Brasil 2025 award
The award reinforces Pará's leadership in active mobility
The final result of the Bicicleta Brasil 2025 Award, announced on the night of last Monday (17), confirms a historic achievement for mobility and traffic education in Pará. The Department of Transit of the State of Pará (Detran) won 3rd place nationally in the category "Public Power Sustainability", with the project "Cycling Tour and Educational Actions - Detran", also receiving the Bicicleta Brasil 2025 Seal, awarded by the Ministry of Cities to institutions that stand out in promoting active mobility in the country.
The Bicicleta Brasil Award is an initiative that recognizes, values, and disseminates good practices aimed at encouraging the use of bicycles throughout the national territory. The award aims to stimulate actions that contribute to improving mobility conditions in cities and strengthening the culture of active mobility in the country.
With each edition, the award recognizes initiatives in different modalities, aligned with the guidelines of the Bicicleta Brasil Seal, covering four groups of proposers: civil society organizations, public power, private sector, and educational institutions.
Among hundreds of registered initiatives, Pará was the only state in the North region to be among the top three, reinforcing Detran's leadership in promoting cycling culture, traffic education, and actions that favor a safer and more sustainable urban environment.
The awarded project brings together a series of initiatives carried out throughout the year, including educational campaigns, activities in schools, safety guidelines for cyclists and drivers, and the traditional annual cycling tour, which mobilizes thousands of participants in various regions of the state.
The general director, Renata Coelho, highlighted the importance of national recognition. “This achievement shows that Pará is at the forefront of educational actions and the promotion of active mobility. Being the only state in the North among the top three is a source of great pride and reinforces our commitment to life and citizenship in traffic,” she emphasized.
The technical-operational director, Bento Gouveia, celebrated the impact of the result. “Achieving third place in such a competitive national contest is, in itself, a spectacular victory. This recognition reflects the dedication of the entire team and shows that Pará is on the right track: advancing, innovating, and bringing education to all regions. More than a medal, this award is an incentive to grow even more, expanding actions, strengthening public policies, and consolidating our state as a reference in cycling mobility, respect for citizens, and traffic safety,” he detailed.
The coordinator of Traffic Education, Celina Koury, emphasized the social value of the initiatives. “The national recognition shows that Pará is on the right path. Our education and awareness actions prioritize the safety of all road users, especially the most vulnerable, such as cyclists and pedestrians. Receiving this seal is an incentive for us to continue investing in initiatives that promote sustainability, urban mobility, and a more humane traffic for everyone,” she stated.
The achievement of 3rd place nationally and the receipt of the Bicicleta Brasil 2025 Seal reinforce Detran's commitment to public policies for traffic education, active mobility, and actions that promote safety, sustainability, and citizenship throughout Pará.
