The municipality of Breves received, this Tuesday (25), the new State High School Professora Maria Elizete Fona Nunes, completely rebuilt by the State Government, through the State Department of Education (Seduc). The delivery marks another advancement for education in the Marajó Archipelago and represents the 173rd school rebuilt by the current state administration, as part of the modernization program of the Pará public network.

During the delivery, Governor Helder Barbalho highlighted the commitment to education and the municipalities in the region.

“Marajó is a priority in our administration. Each rebuilt school represents more dignity, more opportunity, and more future for our children and youth. Delivering a modern unit like this, here in Breves, reinforces that education is at the center of our development project for Pará.”

Vice Governor Hana Ghassan emphasized the importance of the school for the community.

"We delivered the completely rebuilt school for our youth, who need to be in school, and we delivered it fully modernized, equipped, providing better conditions for both teachers and students. It is an opportunity, it is a commitment of our government to education."

With an investment of over R$ 4 million, the unit will serve 502 students from High School and Youth and Adult Education (EJA), in the morning, afternoon, and evening shifts. The new structure includes modern classrooms, a teachers' room, bathrooms, a computer lab, a pantry, a Specialized Educational Service (AEE) room, administration, a snack bar, and pedagogical coordination.

The State Secretary of Education, Ricardo Sefer, emphasized the impact of the delivery. “The school represents the quality standard of the state network. They are modern, air-conditioned spaces, with laboratories and technology, aligned with what we advocate, to provide adequate conditions for students to learn more and teachers to work better. With this delivery, we have reached the 173rd rebuilt school and we remain firm in transforming all education in Pará.”

Student Larissa Morais, from the 3rd grade, highlighted the transformation. “The school is beautiful. The colors, the organized classrooms, the computers. Everything caught my attention. An air-conditioned structure helps a lot in learning. I hope the new students take advantage of it.”

Director Jedielson Ferreira da Cruz celebrated the new moment for the school community. “It is a historic day. The school was abandoned and now it is transformed, air-conditioned, with adequate spaces. I thank the governor and the vice governor for providing us with this wonderful environment. I am very happy.”

Meanwhile, 15-year-old student Kelly Lobato Soares reinforced the difference. “Where we studied before was very hot and disorganized. Here everything is adequate. What I liked the most was the computer room. We are excited for the start of the school year.”

Technology for teachers

As part of the technological modernization policy, 198 kits of Chromebooks were also delivered to teachers in Anajás, Bagre, Breves, Gurupá, Melgaço, and Portel, in addition to the Regional Education Directorate (DRE) of Breves. The equipment will be used for pedagogical and administrative purposes, within the Conecta Educação program, carried out in partnership with the Federal Government, which will deliver 17,000 to all teachers in the network.

Innovation and Hybrid Education Room

The school also hosts the Innovation Network for Hybrid Education (RIEH), a partnership between the State Government and the Ministry of Education (Mec), with a studio equipped with robotic cameras, lighting kits, editing islands, and technologies for producing educational content.

With this delivery, Pará now has four RIEH units, in Belém, Marabá, Santarém, and now Breves. The initiative strengthens innovative practices and expands learning times and spaces, integrating face-to-face and virtual environments, focusing on student protagonism and the pedagogical use of technologies.
