The integrated program of the Internal Week for the Prevention of Work Accidents (Sipat) is entering its final stretch this Friday (28), discussing professional ethics, mental health at work, and safety practices in serving the population in the health units of the Government of Pará.

Throughout the week, teams from Belém, Marabá, and Tucuruí have participated in lectures, discussion circles, and strategic discussions that reinforce the importance of work environments prepared to offer more humane and efficient assistance.

This year, the Internal Week for the Prevention of Work Accidents highlights three central axes: mental health at work, ethics and respect in professional relationships, and strengthening patient safety practices. The goal is to reinforce the importance of safer, more welcoming, and integrity-oriented work environments — pillars that positively impact the reception of patients and companions of the Unified Health System (SUS).

Activities are taking place at the Galileu State Public Hospital (HPEG) and the Metropolitan Polyclinic in Belém; at the Dr. Geraldo Veloso Regional Hospital of Southeast Pará (HRSP) and the Carajás Polyclinic/Natea in Marabá; and at the Tucuruí Polyclinic/Natea. All units are managed by the Institute of Social and Environmental Health of the Amazon (ISSAA).

Good practices and conduct contribute to the protection of life

Among the highlights of the week, the lecture “Work Accident – Know to Prevent,” held on the 25th, reinforced the relevance of employee safety as a foundation for more qualified care. The ISSAA's Occupational Safety Engineer, Janaina Leal, reminded that prevention should be a daily routine: “Every safe conduct protects lives. When we take care of the worker, we take care of the patient.”

On Wednesday (26), attention turned to an increasingly urgent topic in health institutions: ethics, respect, and combating moral harassment. The lecture led by Bianca Chamma, legal manager, and Marcelo Augusto Silva, Compliance manager at ISSAA, reinforced that healthy professional relationships are crucial for more integrated teams and more effective services. “Moral harassment destroys bonds and compromises the quality of care. Talking about ethics is protecting people and strengthening institutions,” highlighted Bianca.

Theme

In 2023, Sipat brings as its main axis Mental Health at Work, addressing signs of emotional distress, reception strategies, and the importance of environments that favor balance and listening. The theme has permeated activities and drawn attention to a growing demand among health teams.

Closing tomorrow

The program continues until tomorrow (28) with new lectures, educational actions, and moments of dialogue that continue to mobilize hundreds of professionals in the three regions.
Even in the final stretch, Sipat maintains its focus on valuing teams, building ethical work environments, and consolidating a permanent safety culture — fundamental commitments to strengthen the assistance provided to the population of Pará.
