The Civil Police of Pará, through the State Directorate for Combating Cyber Crimes (DECCC), carried out the arrest of ten individuals involved in bank fraud and various digital scams over the past two days. During the operation, preventive arrest warrants and 13 search and seizure warrants were executed at the residences linked to the targets. Nine of the arrested were located in the State of São Paulo and one in Pará.

The operation was coordinated by the Division for Combating Economic and Property Crimes through Cyber Means (DCEP), linked to DECCC, and began the arrests on Wednesday (26), continuing until the morning of this Friday (28).

“The criminals used advanced technological resources to commit the crimes, which included the 'false relative' scam and bank fraud through the invasion of bank accounts and schemes where they promised the sale of services and goods, requesting subsequent payments from the victims. The complexity of the crimes and the dispersion of the action locations across various municipalities, including the capital of São Paulo, required the support of several experts in computational forensics for the analysis and collection of evidence,” detailed Delegate Vanessa Lee, head of DECCC.

During the execution of the search warrant in Pará, the team from the Scientific Police of the State of Pará (PCEPA), which provided support during the operations, identified and recorded the possession and sharing of child sexual abuse content at the location, resulting in the immediate arrest of the individual in the act.

“All these actions represent the commitment of the Civil Police of the State of Pará to rigorously combat cyber crimes, and for this, our police use all available intelligence and forensic resources, in addition to the support of other state agencies,” emphasized General Delegate Raimundo Benassuly, head of PCPA.

The arrested individuals were taken to police units, where the appropriate legal procedures were formalized. They will remain at the disposal of the judiciary. PCPA emphasizes that victims of any crime should seek a police station to formalize the complaint or use the website of the Virtual Police Station to register the Occurrence Report.
