Government of Pará delivers Açaí and Flour Market in Oeiras do Pará
New space strengthens the local economy and ensures better working conditions for producers and merchants
The Government of Pará delivered, this Saturday (29), the Açaí and Flour Market in the municipality of Oeiras do Pará, in the Marajó Integration Region. The new space offers adequate structure for the direct sale of traditional products from the region, expanding the population's access to quality food and strengthening job and income generation for the more than 36,000 residents of the municipality.
Executed by the State Department of Public Works (Seop), in partnership with the municipal government, the market has 91 m² of built area, distributed in eight functional boxes intended for the commercialization of açaí, flour, and other regional products.
“The delivery of this market represents much more than a construction: it is a direct boost to the local economy and to the strengthening of the productive chain of Marajó. This space expands opportunities, we strengthen the income of the producing families of Oeiras do Pará. This is how the state government continues to build real development, which transforms the daily lives of people and stimulates the economy in all regions of Pará,” said Hana Ghassan, vice-governor of Pará.
The facility also received tactile flooring, ensuring accessibility, as well as two bathrooms, complete electrical and plumbing installations, and a ramp for access to the Araticu River, which facilitates the loading and unloading of goods.
The Secretary of Public Works, Ruy Cabral, highlighted the positive impacts of the delivery.
“This is yet another project that ensures the strengthening of infrastructure and the generation of jobs and income in the Marajó Region. The local population gains a space prepared for merchants to work with dignity and for the population to find quality products, contributing to the increasingly strong growth of Oeiras do Pará,” he stated.
Joint investment
The construction of the Açaí and Flour Market received R$ 479,335.44 in investments combined between the state government and the municipality.
