Amazônia Jazz Band closes Amajazzon 2025 Festival at Theatro da Paz
The AJB presented a repertoire of Pará songs, featuring singers Tainá E I O U and Juliana Sinimbú
The Amazônia Jazz Band closed the International Jazz Festival - Amajazzon 2025 on the night of this Sunday (30), at Theatro da Paz, in Belém. Eduardo Lima, the principal conductor of AJB, said that “we are feeling very honored to close the Festival and bring special guests and unpublished works from our percussionist Thiago D’Albuquerque, which we will play for the first time today.”
The repertoire of the show brought together hits from Pará music, with a special participation from singer Tainá E I O U, who performed original songs “Hamlet” and “Filosofia”, and also from singer Juliana Sinimbú, who performed the classic “Ao pôr do sol” and her own song “Open Bar”, arranged by Kim Freitas, guitarist of AJB.
According to the maestro, the show allowed for a lot of improvisation from the group, and the result was “a beautiful show, with the lambada of Curupira, which is already a hit in Belém.”
The Pires family attended the entire Festival program with the expectation of the big band performance. “We came earlier to see the other attractions, and the Amazônia Jazz Band played wonderfully well. We loved it. We want to come more often,” said Fátima Pires, who was accompanied by her husband and daughter.
