Pará registers a 57.45% drop in violent crimes in November
According to data from Segup, the month of November 2025 recorded a 57.45% decrease in Homicides and Intentional Violent Crimes (CVLI), achieving the best November in the historical line and the third best result since 2010
Pará achieves, once again, good results regarding the crime rates recorded in the last month of November, showing a 57.45% decrease in Homicides and Intentional Violent Crimes (CVLI), which include homicide, robbery followed by death, bodily injury resulting in death, and femicide. The data was released this Monday, the 1st, by the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup). The numbers also indicate a reduction of 55.61% in the last eleven months of 2025, compared to the year 2018, representing the preservation of 2,095 lives throughout the State.
For the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense, Ualame Machado, the reduction is the result of integrated work among security forces, combined with efficient intelligence and investigation work, along with strong investments in security made by the State Government.
"We had the best November of the entire historical series, and also the third best month of the entire historical series since 2010, with the registration of 140 CVLIs throughout the State, and compared to last year, we had a reduction of 14.63%. When we compare with 2018, which recorded 329 CVLIs, we can see how much we have evolved in combating crime. These numbers are even more impactful when we talk about the eleven months of the year, where compared to the same period in 2018, we managed to preserve more than 2,000 lives. This shows us that the strategies used by the security forces to confront crime in the State have been yielding very positive results,” stated Ualame Machado.
The Secretary also highlights the investments that have been made in the area of security, such as the increase in personnel, new vehicles, equipment, weapons, and training that reinforce security actions. "All the apparatus that has been acquired so that security teams can operate with greater preparation and technique undoubtedly contributes to results so that we can reduce crime month by month and maintain stability in the numbers. We know that the challenge is great, but we are working very hard to ensure that our State is among those that reduce crime the most in the country,” concluded the head of Segup.
In absolute numbers, the month of November 2025 had 140 cases of CVLI, while in the same period last year, 164 cases were recorded, indicating a reduction of 14.63%. In 2018, 329 occurrences were recorded, showing a reduction of 57.45%. The numbers correspond to the period from November 1 to 30, thus indicating the best November in the historical line since 2010.
Eleven months of 2025 - In the accumulated data for the last eleven months of the year, the numbers recorded a reduction of 55.61% between January and November 2025, compared to the same period in 2018, which recorded 1,672 and 3,767 cases of CVLI throughout Pará, respectively.
Recognition and priority - In the last seven years, Pará has prioritized the reduction of crime and the enhancement of public safety, highlighting the data presented by the Cartography of Violence, published by the Brazilian Forum on Public Security, where the State appears among those that have most reduced the number of violent deaths since 2022, where it recorded 3,018 violent deaths, while in 2024 this number fell to 2,560, decreasing from a rate of 35.2 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants to 29.5.
The State also recorded a reduction of 7.3% compared to the years 2023/2024. The collected numbers are based on the methodology used by the Brazilian Forum on Public Security, which uses the criteria of Intentional Violent Deaths (MVI).
