The course is a partnership with the Capacita COP30 Program

The State Government, through the Public Governance School of Pará (EGPA), is open for enrollment for the Basic Libras - COP 30 course. There will be 100 spots, 50 for public security (Military Firefighters, Civil Police, Scientific Police, Detran, and Military Police) and 50 for general public servants. The alternating classes will start on May 13, with a workload of 30 hours. Enrollment must be done through the EGPA website.

The Brazilian Sign Language, also known as Libras, is an essential form of communication for deaf and hard of hearing individuals. It allows them, for example, to express themselves and connect with the world around them. Additionally, sign language also promotes social inclusion, helping to break down communication barriers and foster understanding between hearing and deaf people.

"The Libras course aimed at training public servants who will work at COP 30 is of great relevance, as we will be receiving numerous visitors who will be able to perceive communicational inclusion as a bias of the State government, which is always present in the receptivity and accessibility of the people, as well as from other countries or States in Brazil, especially regarding the importance of the event for Pará," explains the professor about the importance of social inclusion.

“This is yet another course that integrates EGPA into the 'Capacita COP30' program, managed by Sectet, the largest free training program in the north and northeast of Brazil,” says Helvio Arruda, general director of EGPA.
