Military Police arrests suspect of drug trafficking in Icoaraci
Man was caught with more than 100 portions of narcotic substance and tried to flee through a wooded area, but was caught by the police
The Military Police arrested a suspect involved in drug trafficking on Wednesday (23) during a routine patrol in Passagem do Mangue, in Campina de Icoaraci, one of the districts of Belém. The PM was patrolling at the end of the passage when they saw an individual acting suspiciously, carrying a plastic bag. Upon noticing the approach of the police vehicle, the man attempted to flee towards the wooded area, disobeying the order to stop.
The police began a foot chase and managed to catch the suspect. In the bag, 108 packets of a substance resembling cocaine base paste were found, along with R$ 35.00 in cash and a camouflage hat.
In light of the evidence, the suspect was placed under arrest and taken to the 8th Civil Police Station of Icoaraci, where he remains at the disposal of the Justice. The operation was conducted by the crew of vehicle R100, from the 1st Company of the 10th Battalion of the PM.
