Artran strengthens oversight of intermunicipal transport on Labor Day
Controllers will be on state highways, as well as bus and ferry terminals, to ensure safe travel

The Public Transport Regulation and Control Agency (Artran) begins, this Thursday (1), a special operation to enhance the safety of intermunicipal passenger transport users during the extended holiday for Labor Day. The action, which extends until Saturday (3), mobilizes on-duty inspectors at strategic points on roads and bus and ferry terminals in Pará.
The operation focuses efforts in municipalities such as Castanhal, Capanema, Santa Maria do Pará, Bragança, and along the Alça Viária. In water transport, activities intensify at the Belém Hydroviary Terminal (THB), Icoaraci Port, and Camará Port in Salvaterra.

According to Artran's General Director, Eduardo Ribeiro, the operation is essential to ensure safe travel during the increased flow of passengers during the holiday. "Transport controllers will be available to the public to receive complaints, clarify doubts, guarantee rights provided by law, and curb illegal transport," he stated.
In this action, the Agency's inspectors will check the documentation of vehicles and vessels, safety conditions, compliance with schedules, and passenger rights, such as free travel for the elderly and half-fare for students. The operation also aims to curb illegal transport services, which jeopardize user safety.

Artran has the support of the State Traffic Department (Detran), State (PRE) and Federal (PRF) Highway Police, as well as the Port Authority. The operation is part of the actions of the Government of Pará to ensure a peaceful and safe holiday for the population using intermunicipal transport.

Oversight with mobile technology - Artran has modernized oversight in intermunicipal transport using smartphones. The innovation has made the work of transport controllers more agile and efficient. In March and April of this year, the Agency provided cell phones to inspectors to monitor road and water transport. The new equipment has facilitated the real-time recording of information about vehicles, vessels, and passengers, with immediate issuance of fines and notifications.
