The Margarida Schivasappa Theater celebrated International Jazz Day with a special performance by the Amazônia Jazz Band. The concert expressed to the audience the "Great Jazz Classics" on the theater's stage at 7 PM.
The show also celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Amazônia Jazz Band, which has established itself over the years as a symbol of art and culture in Pará.
The initiative, promoted by the Government of Pará, is part of the cultural programming calendar of the State Secretariat of Culture, through Theatro da Paz and in partnership with the Academia Paraense de Letras.

Under the direction of conductor Eduardo Lima, the audience was moved by the repertoire of the night. Composers such as Jobim, Glenn Miller, Paulo André, and Ruy Barata were brought to life on the Schivasappa stage with their timeless works.
The show was very well received by the theater audience. For conductor Eduardo Lima, it is a great joy to provide culture and celebrate such an important day for the Amazônia Jazz Band.

"We are very happy to echo the music of this beloved genre. Jazz is, at its essence, liberating, improvisational, and that is our strength. Over these 30 years, we have worked to offer the best of jazz and Amazonian music," he states.
Passionate about music and dance, visitor Eleonor Costa de Oliveira enjoyed herself to the rhythm of jazz. "I can only say good things about the Amazônia Jazz Band. I dance a lot at all the performances and do my best not to miss any show. I really enjoy it, and it is always a unique experience," she rejoices.

Audience member Joana Melo attended the anniversary concert of the AJB. For her, the 30 years of the Amazônia Jazz Band is the result of artistic effort and the credibility that culture has in the Pará region. "I wish a long life to the Amazônia Jazz Band, and may this appreciation for bands that emerge in our region be continuous. I hope all artistic languages continue to shine in our theaters," she concludes.
