Sefa seizes semi-jewels, rice, and 45 thousand liters of automotive compound for tax irregularity
Seizures were made in Baixo Amazonas, Araguaia, and northeastern state

State tax inspectors from the State Department of Finance (Sefa), assigned to the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit in Itinga, in Dom Eliseu, northeastern Pará, seized 8,280 pieces of semi-jewels, valued at R$ 306 thousand, sent from the municipality of Imperatriz, in Maranhão, for sale in Pará. The seizure occurred on Wednesday (30).
“The goods were being transported in a passenger vehicle and were located during an approach by the Military Police of Pará, and sent for verification of tax compliance. The Sefa team found the absence of advance ICMS collection, as provided for in the legislation. In light of this, a Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was drawn up in the amount of R$ 56,446.42, already collected, and the goods were released,” reported the coordinator of the tax unit, Rafael Brasil.
Seizure on Cuiabá - Santarém
Inspectors from the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit in Serra do Cachimbo, at km-785 of the BR-163 highway, also known as Cuiabá-Santarém, in the municipality of Novo Progresso, southwestern Pará, seized 45 thousand liters of Arla, a liquid solution that reduces pollutant emissions produced during diesel combustion, used in the vehicle's engine. The seizure also occurred on Wednesday (30) and the goods were valued at R$ 67,500.00.
“During an inspection carried out in Serra do Cachimbo, a truck from Campo Verde-MT, transporting 45 thousand liters of Arla, had its cargo seized because the invoice presented by the transporter referred to an internal operation. However, after diligence and analysis of the presented tax documents, it was found that the goods were to be delivered to a company established in Pará. In other words, it was an interstate operation. Given the attempt to improperly internalize the goods, the invoice was disregarded and the Seizure and Deposit Term was drawn up in the amount of R$ 23,085.00 referring to the tax and fine owed, which was paid and the goods released,” informed the coordinator of the Cachimbo unit, Maycon Freitas.

Also on Wednesday, the inspection team from the State Department of Finance's Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit in Araguaia, southeastern state, seized 122,900 kg of rice, valued at R$ 88 thousand.
The seizure occurred at the tax post in the municipality of Barreira do Campo, on the PA-441 highway, km 38. “Three trucks presented themselves for inspection with 122,900 kg of husked rice, coming from Santa Maria das Barreiras heading to Rondonópolis-MT. The drivers delivered the tax documents and, upon checking the unit values of the invoices, a difference was found compared to the values of the Sefa Price Bulletin, of R$ 0.43/kg,” explained the coordinator of the unit, Renato Couto.
The difference in the value of the rice was calculated at R$ 53,686.74, and three Seizure and Deposit Terms (TADs) were drawn up with a total value of R$ 9,019.38 referring to tax and fine, which was paid and the goods released.
